  8. Totally agree! UGH!! And what an original idea, too.
  9. She may be the best tenant you've ever had. I'd talk frankly with her.

  11. Yes, that's right, and I believe they were actually "gardens". I can't even remember that there were any rides?

  13. Jeebus, not sure if you know this, but Joel Osteen does not take a salary from his church. He is paid through his book sales. I am not sure about the other staff though.
  14. I have the SJI recipe for their biscuits. It's printed on an index card with their name on it, I will have to scan it and post it. My dad used to take us there on special occasions, it's where I had my first raw oyster! It was "family style", if I remember right. You'd order large dishes of things so it seemed like all you can eat. There's a postcard of the Inn on sale on Ebay.

  17. Someone posted a great link to subdivision plat records here recently; not the HCAD parcel maps, but actual photocopies of the original plat maps. If anyone knows to what I am referring, could you post the link here? Thanks!
  18. Beautiful pics. I wholeheartedly agree.
  19. http://www.drudgereport.com/flash2.htm POLL: AMERICANS 'WANT TO WIN IN IRAQ' Tue Feb 20 2007 16:21:32 ET In the wake of the U.S. House of Representatives passing a resolution that amounts to a vote of no confidence in the Bush administration's policies in Iraq, a new national survey by Alexandria, VA-based Public Opinion Strategies (POS) shows the American people may have some different ideas from their elected leaders on this issue. The survey was conducted nationwide February 5-7 among a bi-partisan, cross-section of 800 registered voters. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percent. The survey was commissioned by The Moriah Group, a Chattanooga-based strategic communications and public affairs firm. The survey shows Americans want to win in Iraq, and that they understand Iraq is the central point in the war against terrorism and they can support a U.S. strategy aimed at achieving victory, said Neil Newhouse, a partner in POS. The idea of pulling back from Iraq is not where the majority of Americans are. *for more click on link above*
  20. Really...any nut jobs in particular? Care to elaborate? I'm very interested as to what you consider a "nut job".
  21. I tried to lighten things up with the poop references, no? Alas, the tone on this thread had nowhere to go but serious, unfortunately.
  22. I didn't put anything into any context. WesternGulf did. He said exactly the following: "I am also not sure if it is nature or nurture but you cannot choose or control what naturally arouses you." Not "you cannot control the consenting adults to whom you are attracted". I only challenged him on how broad a brush he wanted to use to paint the subject. I wasn't grouping gays in with pedophiles, everyone else did that for me. Now that we all agree child molesters aren't in the same category as consensual gay sex, the answer to my original question would be something along these lines: "No, Polly, we should not allow pedophiles to engage in sexual acts with children, because they can control what arouses them." So, basically, people can control what arouses them, then? Sorry about my attitude, this whole topic has gone way sour. I can't believe some of the stuff I am reading.
  23. I'm at Katy Fwy & Wilcrest/BW 8 and I never felt a thing.
  24. I disagree wholeheartedly. CDeb is right on, IMHO. There was never any comparison between the two. It is a flaw in the original statement, though unintended, I am sure.
