  1. Heights, Cottage Grove, Kemah, same thing, right? Someone should buy that reporter some spelling lessons.
  2. I'm no tributary expert, but I assume the water color has to do with flow volume and sediment. There hasn't been measurable rainfall for a while so the water is still and the sediment settles. This weekend, most Texas rivers and bayous are greener/bluer than usual.
  3. Hard to say. At this point, I've only seen interior office crap being thrown into the large dumpsters they've hauled on site.
  4. site update: The real estate signs have been removed. Also, the site is fenced off and interiors are currently being gutted.
  5. lol...I'm still thinking about these pants and the stance days later...she should be Photoshopped into every groundbreaking from this point forward.
  6. I believe this intersection is slated to get a new signal soon.
  7. All the eye rolling from reading the Heights page seriously affects my vision and focus.
  8. Is it possible that there is a ground lease in place and Sears pays the tax per the ground lease contract?
  9. In 2015 Houston, 3+ level townhomes without private yards do not generate many school-age children. Will that change over time? Probably. Currently, in redeveloping areas, the hot areas to watch for student enrollment growth have yards (Oak Forest/Braeswood Place) or are apartment buildings zoned to high-ranking schools in walking distance to major employers (Med Center/Energy Corridor). With that said, an announcement was made to the HISD Board two weeks ago to adjust zoning in this very area--will it affect student enrollment much in Somerset Green, a neighborhood marketing empty-nesters? Naaaaah.
  10. This is a TIRZ 5 project. http://www.houstontx.gov/ecodev/tirzdocs/budgetsfy15/tirz5.pdf
  11. This is going to be a huge facility. It's interesting to watch these manufacturing companies find new homes in the Grand Parkway corridor out west and east. From what I hear, their current, smaller site in Timbergrove will be vacated--most likely becoming townhomes. http://impactnews.com/houston-metro/cy-fair/daikin-industries-to-build-facility-in-northwest-harris-coun/ http://www.bizjournals.com/houston/news/2015/01/07/major-hvac-manufacturer-to-build-417m-houston.html
  12. This, I believe, is going in at the current site of Blair House apartments on the south side of Bellaire Blvd. just west of Academy St.
  13. This Nancy tweet from today states a 290-unit building is going up.
  14. According to the CoH permitting, Wood Partners received a permit for 283 apartments at 4020 Koehler. This is the site that was for sale bounded by Bass/Bonner/Spencer/Koehler. There is already a hole in the ground and utility work. Does anyone have any details or renderings?
  15. Last I heard: 350 unit building on the SE side of HY (half the units affordable CDBG-funded) http://www.houstontx.gov/housing/publiclegal/Hardy_Yards_Residences.pdf
  16. Well, the signs have been replaced with this guy:
  17. the Memorial Club Apts. on the east side of Westcott are cleared out with fencing around the property.
  18. This site is currently under construction. ...bike racks in front, parking in back.
