The page is officially gone. Check the original website now and the project is no longer listed... haha... looks like someone wasn't supposed to announce that yet.

The link for this project has been taken off the original website that was posted. Check the LEED section. It's not there anymore. What does that mean?

That does seem rather big, doesn't it? I don't know... that's what that website reported (the one that Channel2 posted).

This tower is certainly smaller than both Hines 47 and Discovery Tower. Check out the square-footage: Hines 47: 1,000,000 SF Discovery Tower: 950,000 SF Hines North Tower: 742,000 SF

Ah, that's what it must be. Yeah, it's right next to Heritage Plaza. Is there already a thread for it and how tall will the parking garage be?

Wait a minute... the 300 Louisana construction is a surface lot. What I saw was at least 3 stories so far... does anyone have any clue what I'm talking about?

Friday night, I drove past the Houston International Festival and I saw a construction project that I wasn't sure that I had seen on this board... maybe it's somewhere else and not in the going up section? Well, it's already at about 3 stories and the construction/real estate/etc. company is Holder. Anyone have a clue about what I'm talking about? It looks like a big project whatever it is. Edit: I think it may have been at the corner of Mckinney Steet and Smith Street. Oh.. nevermind. This must be the 300 Block Louisiana project in the Houston Downtown forum. Nevermind! Can a mod please close this?

I drove by the area where the festival was on Friday and saw a construction project which I was unaware of. All I know is that there is already a third story to whatever it is and its not that far from city hall. The construction or real estate or whatever company it was had their logo all over the place.. it was a company called Holder with a blue H.

The top is actually quite nice. The rest of the building is blah imo, but that light blue is cool.

A new 16-story tower being built by Hines is planned to be built on First Baptist Church's parking lot at the south side of the Katy Freeway, just outside the Loop. The congregation of the church actually voted to allow this building to be built. For more info, click here to be directed to Swamplot.

So then, if we knew about this proposed residential tower, what is it?

GreenStreet: Mixed-Use Development At 1201 Fannin St.

You're exactly right about outdoor escalators. They work in DC everywhere to get down to the subways... why wouldn't they work here? Btw, they're not even covered there. -
We didn't know about the proposed residential tower/building, did we? Yes, we knew about the convention hotel... I just thought we didn't know its exact location.

I am completely shocked no one has posted this photo yet... it contains several proposed projects we didn't know about in downtown including more residential spots and a better idea of where the convention hotel will be. (It's on the 6houstoncenter.com website)

I don't understand the topper of this building. Are those columns? We need a better rendering than just the front... for all we know, a massive statue of Chuck Norris could be on the other side...

This is amazing photography. The second is my favorite. It looked like a tower I had never seen before.

No. The Pavilions is the blackest building in that photo, except for the roofs of some buildings. It's in the center towards the left. -

I don't have any shots, but I can say that they're already working on the parking garage of the second tower.

Well, the company could be from Dubai, but the designer could be American. I'm not saying American architects don't have as much imagination or whatever, but I'm saying just because the company is from Dubai doesn't mean you should expect something fancy. For example, my father works in a Dubai/Saudi Arabian company called MMI, but the building is simply a large stucco 14-story box near the Galleria.

I do believe you... I'm just curious how you know. Are you in the "inter-loop of knowledge" of the contruction projects?

This is a huge guess, but I'd say either a Sheraton or Westin Hotel.

80 stories? That's definitely a 1,000 footer! There has never been a 80 story building that has been less than 1,000 feet in this world (none that I know of). Looks like we may have a new "tallest" for Houston if it leaves the planning stages and enters reality. Historically in America, it takes a city 20 to 30s year *with a few exceptions* to get a new city "tallest", so it's about that time so it wouldn't surprise me.
