  1. cool, thanks. so assuming the wild card has a better winning % then the NL leader. That means the NL leader plays the Mets no matter what right? Or would the Mets play the Wild Card if they happen to be from the NL west?
  2. I wouldn't say we have a really good chance. lets just say we have a chance. the cards finish with the brewers (and giants if necessary). and they're at home. we don't exactly play the pirates well, and no comment on the braves. but we can do it, we basically need to win at least 5 out of 6, if we can't sweep them both. why did they do a coin toss if we're tied at the end? we won the season series with the cards...
  3. i wandered over there one night and found it closed. you would think with all the residents and drunks on the weekends, they would be open later. i was hoping for a late night place, and couldn't even get a meal at 7pm!
  4. the District 7 Grill in midtown is now open. the website doesn't have anything on it yet other then "Opening July 2006". i wonder what the hours are... so is there a District 7 grill on Hutchins, a District 6 Grill on San Jac, and now a second District 7 grill in midtown on Pierce?
  5. i saw the jeep ad in Maxim as well. i was shocked when i didn't see "Houston area Jeep dealer" somewhere on the ad. pretty cool, except the people running around look superimposed.
  6. i disagree. seems like 6th street is as diverse as UT. i haven't been for a while, but i always see huge crowds of asians/blacks. if you want the older, more diverse crowd you can always go to 4th street.
  7. yes it is. not saying i think it should have a space theme. but JSC is within the city limits.
  8. 32' below ground. when you walk in, your on the main concourse, so if you have good seats you'll have to walk down to them. works for me, less i have to walk up.
  9. you didn't look very hard. there's a Johnny Carino's, Olive Garden, Saltgrass, and Fuddruckers in the Chili's parking lot (around the corner south off of 288). and there's a bunch of non-chain restaurants along broadway between 288 and cullen- including indian, chinese, vietnamese, cajun, mexican and latin. not saying Pearland has the best selection, but there are options. thanks for all the info on Boulder Creek. if you find out what other retailers sign on be sure to let us know.
  10. Roger did ok. Only two earned runs. Not that he's shown he's worth the $$$ yet. No comment on Lidge.
  11. there are two buildings, 2218 and 2220 Brazos, that are still there and occupied. According to HCAD.org they are coded as Commercial, though they almost look residential to me. no signage on them other then addresses, and I've seen people inside.
  12. We had a presentation in a land development class i was taking last semester by an employee of M Sherman & Associates. He said they went in quite confidently to city council, but were shot down on their proposal. I don't remember the details (this was back in March), but there were planning on straightening a few of the issues out and going back this summer.
  13. anyone know who the tenants are going to be?
  14. yeah, its quite a park. a friend was there last weekend and he said he heard a couple of workers talking about the possible shutdown, they were all in shock.
  15. i have no idea, i thought i had been there before when astroworld was closing. i go through a proxy so there's about 150,000 people at my company that could have caused me to be banned there. oh well...
  16. "You have been banned from this forum." can anyone post some pics here? EDIT: I got someone to send me links to the pics which I could get to. Thanks.
  17. I'm not defending all Chicago fans by and means, but i will defend that guy. He picked up what he thought was a foul ball. Once he realized that it was actually in play, he dropped it back on the field and covered his head in shame. it was obviously an accident on his part. They ruled it interference, and let Everett keep his triple which he probably would have gotten anyways. no harm done, except for that fact that Chicago could argue that their right fielder had a chance to throw out Everett, the winning run, at third if not for the interference. Though the umps and commentators agree it would have been a triple either way, and Chicago didn't argue the call. and when they booed Taveras maybe they were booing the fact that the run scored, which was Everett, the questionable (to the fans at the time) triple.
  18. as long as its open late and a $5 cab ride from downtown i'll be happy!
  19. i thought the American Apparel downtown was a no go, and they were only opening on location down Westheimer? american apparel store locations
  20. your camera takes pictures of the future? what model is that?
  21. its really not as bad as they make it seem. though if you have no interested in anatomy then there's no point.
  22. we went friday afternoon a few weeks ago, just showed up and got tickets. just make sure you get there at least a few hours before they close and you should be ok. it was just crowded enough i would say. i would recommend the audio guide, it provides a lot of detailed info you would otherwise miss. and i got the advanced one, i'm not medically inclined and it was easy enough to follow.
  23. i second that. i wonder what it would take to convince them to reopen...
  24. anyone know how to find out if Bonds is going to be in the lineup tonight? mlb.com and the papers seem to be unsure for now.
