  1. i think you missed the point. the poster of the video is probably under investigation because he may have some connection to the crime, posting the video boasting. no one said the video taper was guilty.
  2. schedule of events: http://asiasociety.org/files/uploads/248files/schedule-time%283%29.pdf i have a friend performing so I'll be there Sunday. Water Garden looks cool, can't wait to see it up close.
  3. From the linked article: Though i'm not going to complain about a parking garage over a surface lot that would be double the size, given we were thinking of purchasing a home around there, I was worried about impacts to the view. But a tennis court would be interesting if done right. Anyone heard about these plans? That article is from August 2011...
  4. To make sure I have this straight. Bibas is opening a place downtown. Same owner's as the newly named Bibas Kitbar on West Gray. Theo's formerly One's a Meal on Westheimer used to be at the West Gray Bibas location, but is no longer affiliated with Bibas.
  5. you should be standing up with your beer in hand the entire 90 anyways! at MMP they only have cupholders in the first x rows of the lower section, where there is more spacing between rows. i do find that annoying...
  6. Looking to allow tailgating for the new stadium. It was going to happen either way, probably better to address it and formalize it. http://www.khou.com/news/Houston-mayor-moves-to-legalize-tailgating-downtown-143415506.html
  7. I was out running the dog today, and ran in to a group of 6 that appeared to be surveying and taking pictures. When I asked one of them what they were doing, he said "trying to save trees". Talked to another guy, he said they were from the City of Houston and the Parks Department, and confirmed that they were working on the Buffalo Bayou Master Plan. He described the new pathways, dog park, lakes, and stage.
  8. I noticed NBC Sports on Comcast channel 49. They were showing an MLS game over the weekend, of course the Dynamo game was only on Galavision... I guess they merged with Versus and relaunched (Spring 2011), i didn't even notice. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NBC_Sports_Network#Merger_with_NBC_Sports Here's a wiki on the Houston channel: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comcast_SportsNet_Houston Is this the same channel that will have studios in the Pavilions?
  9. I've been trying to follow this thread, apologies if this has already been answered... Has this been approved? Funding secured? Is the work that is going on now part of this master plan? They have been repaving sidewalks and have signage of bike trails closed (though everyone just rides around them).
  10. my favorite comment from a user on the chron article: Muslims Christians and Jews all worship the same God. Muslims worship on Friday, Jews on Saturday and Christian's on Sunday. God's way of ensuring he gets a 3 day weekend.
  11. HCAD shows an 1164 sqft building originally built in 1929 and a second 1800 sqft building built in 1970. Not sure how it was integrated to the original building or what improvements they did. never been there sober...
  12. yeah, i got that. just messing with him.
  13. How are Public Relations going to be the death of America? Actually maybe it will be... Anyways, the stadium is looking great and I can't wait to get out to some home games next season. Hopefully we can win there as much as we do at the Rob (and maybe start winning away as well). Definitely looking forward to better vendors and biking to games to avoid dealing with parking. And also, only in this country do people need to defend soccer. I don't bother anymore, let people watch their oh so exciting one pitch every 1.5 minute baseball.
  14. nothing amazing, but i do like all the different options you have. could be the one i built wasn't the best combo, i'll probably give it another shot. I've only been in LA, i'm assuming the menu is the same here...
  15. But it doesn't make up for United's crappy customer service (relative to Continental's).
  16. I read it as commercial for domestic flights. If Continental starts up their puddle jumper to IAH again that would be amazing, I know tons of NASA/Contractors would love to see that come back. Most of my coworkers have started flying Southwest for work because of Hobby's proximity and ease after Continental discontinued service from Ellington and SW improved service. From what I remember Continental said it was too expensive to fly out of Ellington when they tried to renew their contract.
  17. Assuming the menu is the same (only been to the downtown location), the Philly Steak burger is amazing - though overwhelming with meat so may not be everyone's thing. will have to checkout the Heights location soon.
  18. i walked over there last week just to check it out. we had a good experience, just wandered the store and bought a couple of drinks to sit outside with. it was crowded but nothing nuts, pretty easy to get around and the express checkout was efficient. didn't run into any crazy customers or anything. the bar was full and plenty of people were sitting outside. they really need to expand the bike rack... overall i think its a good addition to the neighborhood and looking forward to shopping there on occasion.
  19. Yeah, he is really awkward looking. But some how he runs the bases and covers outfield. And his throws get in, i remember him having plenty of outfield assists early on when I was paying more attention. But i agree it looks goofy. I haven't been out this year, but will at some point. I wanted to go to bring your dog day (did that with the aeros and my pup loved it though he was scared when they came crashing in to the boards) but that was last weekend and i missed it due to the MS150. But yeah, i assumed this was a lost season. but you never know in baseball. Central is not that strong but are chances are slim...
  20. how about a Chick-fil-a that's open on Sundays? I know that's not possible, but since we're speculating... any word on if this walmart will be 24 hours?
  21. Were you on a road bike? I didn't think it was bumpy, not anymore then other regular sidewalks. I agree with the 'stop' words, pointless. Overall I like the bridge, nice to have an option to cross without having to go all the way over to Waugh or Sabine. And I bet the 'dog park' will get more crowded since people can walk over now from the apartments on the north side.
  22. I can't remember if this was posted on this thread, but in case: Stadium Construction Camera
