  1. Yeah a PM would have been quicker. I was camping at Big Bend where there's no internet so I wasn't able to change it until now. Sorry about that. I couldn't find anything that said 40 stories but I'm glad that's the case.
  2. Wiki says the Huntingdon is 34 stories and is currently the tallest residential in town and it's just around the corner in River Oaks, so this will eclipse it by 6 stories and I am guessing it will be the tallest residential in town. EDIT: The latest info says this is only 35 stories. I've updated the thread title. So it will just be a single story taller than the Huntingdon.
  3. I think I'll be able to see this one from my roof. Is it still going to be 40 stories? That's much taller than any residential building in the area, right?
  4. I noticed that the foundation is being laid for a new building at Westheimer and Dunlavy. A long time ago there was a thread with a rendering but I could not find it so I am starting a new one. Looks like the parking will be in the back which is great.
  5. It's definitely underwhelming but an improvement over wha used to be there at least. Wasn't the lot a strip center before this?
  6. Right next to the Continental Club. http://houston.bcycle.com I might never use it because I have an awesome bike but it'll be great when people visit me and want to go for a ride with me.
  7. That was my first thought.
  8. From a bike ride today. You can also see some people using the new bike rental kiosk in the neighborhood!!
  9. Well pretty much none of the businesses along this part of Westheimer are in architecturally beautiful buildings but they work. I don't see why something couldn't work in this building as well. It sure has been sitting vacant for a long time. The current owner is paying tax on it and not getting anything back so its very surprising it isn't being leased out even at a reduced rate.
  10. Cool. I'll try to take a photo from my roof in Montrose to show the impact it makes on the Uptown skyline. It's not that big of a deal but I'd like to see it now that the structure is pretty much complete.
  11. Cool! Yeah that's what I was trying to convey, that this project was seriously getting going after the lot sat vacant for so many years. I am a photographer but I don't mind posting a blurry photo once in a while when it can be useful.
  12. You're being sarcastic right? Horrible pics from a cloudy window on a fast moving train but it shows activity on the lot which makes me happy. I remember eating at Julias and commenting about how horrible the view out the window was compared to how nice the restaurant was. I am glad that is changing.
  13. Can you refer me to the other thread? When I search for broadstone midtown I only find Broadstone West Dallas. EDIT: I found it but it was in the Midtown forum not Going Up. Merging now.
  14. I thought I remembered seeing one but when I searched for Alabama and Main I didn't find anything but this. I'll try to locate it and merge them then.
  15. I saw some dirt being moved on the empty lot next to Julia's as I sped by on the light rail this morning. I know this thread is old but does anybody know what's going there? Is it the same project that the above posts mention, or is it something new?
  16. Anybody know if this has ground floor retail? The rendering shows tables but I'm not sure if that's a restaurant or just some tables for tenants to use. I'm hoping it's retail. I said I'd take photos once it breaks ground but it is right on my running route and when I ran by it today it looked like they had broken ground. I think I was just previously thinking it was apartments or something but cool that it's already moving forward.
  17. Cool right in my 'hood! I'm just a few blocks from there. I'll definitely take a lot of pics once it breaks ground.
  18. I just noticed this when walking around my neighborhood this evening. Does anybody know the details? I didn't realize there was a school on that block before.
