  1. Some of us should go over to the site and break the ground for them.
  2. She looks like Carol Channing in that picture. I think I said that before. You all probably think I'm old because I know who Carol Channing is, but I'm not.
  3. Ugh! Brad Lidge again! When will they learn! Snot!
  4. Why does Gary Kubiak always wear those sweatshirts outside in this Houston heat?
  5. Yes, Channel 2 did a short piece last night. Nothing that hasn't been discussed in this thread. They mentioned petitions being available. I'll sign them. Where are the petitions?
  6. I'm hopeful, but I just don't know. It hasn't been super so far this season. But neither was last year. You never know.
  7. Brad Lidge blows one promising, hopeful game after another. Get rid of him. I don't really blame Roy Oswalt for the Pooholes homerun. That 10th inning shouldn't have happened in he first place, because the Astros were going to win. Until "Lights Out" came on. Every time the game is going in the Astros' favor and Brad Lidge shows up at the end I think "Oh no". He's become notorious for losing a good lead and sending them into extra innings which, most of the time, they end up losing. Trade Lidge for some fresh blood. As for Roger, he's only played four games (?), but he hasn't really contributed in a great way just yet. If nothing changes, then I don't know what to say.
  8. Channel 11 did a story yesterday evening on retail, some in the downtown area. They briefly mentioned American Apparel. Video: http://www.khou.com/sharedcontent/VideoPla...=74704&catId=35
  9. I heard rapper Paul Wall threw out the first pitch at Monday's game. Saw Sam Malone sitting near home plate the other day on TV. Though only we Houstonians would know him. I noticed Rockets' Tracy McGrady there when Barry Bonds was in town and there was such a big deal about him being one homerun away from tying Babe Ruth. Other frequenters, of course, George 41, Babs and everyone's favorite, Tilman Fertitta. What's funny is the other day I noticed Barbara there without George (he must have been in Connecticut). Usually they leave around the 7th inning. Babs stayed until the end. I guess George likes to go home early and take a nap so she took advantage of his not being there. And then a few months ago Greta Van Susteren was sitting behind home plate with George and Babs. Fun topic, any other celeb sitings at the Astros games?
  10. It was annouced today that KFC/Burger King has been added to the list of tenants for Houston Pavillions: http://www.bizjournals.com/houston/stories...tml?jst=b_ln_hl http://www.khou.com/topstories/bizstories/...r.10d09a25.html Scratching my head over this one. At least it's one of those neat combos.
  11. I have to admit I was very irate last night and had gotten my panties in a big bunch over that series. I was noticing every little thing and it was all getting on my nerves. Not feeling good about this upcoming series with Detroit starting tonight, either.
  12. Unbelievable series agains the Smelly Sox again. I cannot believe it! I'm still baffled how they managed to blow such a huge lead on Saturday and again last night. I know they eventually won during the extra innings last night, but still, it would have been so much sweeter and much more exciting if they hadn't gone from 9 to 9 to 9 to 2. Someone had to win in the extra innings. At that point I didn't even care. Still glad they won, but it wasn't fun. Is it typical for Chicago fans to act like filthy, uncivilized, classless animals? I noticed when Willy got a hit late in the game, they booed him. Come on, they've swept the Astros in like the last 6 or 7 game straight counting the WS, he gets a hit and they boo him? Astros fans don't behave that way. One of Chicago's fans had to be escorted out last night for some type of misconduct. I'll never forget last year during the WS when hit Patty Biggio on the back of the head.
  13. I hate the Smelly Sox. I had a feeling the Astros would lose last night.
  14. We don't need Six Flags, especially with the way it's going now. I wouldn't be surprised if the whole franchise went under within the next few years. I wouldn't care. I'm hopeful and even a little confident that something will come our way in the not so distant future. Tilman's gotten into the themed restaurants now with Disney. I can't not see him doing something on a much larger scale in his hometown (Galveston/Houston area) eventually. I know I keep bringing him into this, but I do think he's our best hope for something like this. I hope the indoor amusment park thingy at the Astrodome does well. I know it's nothing compared to a real theme park, but I think would be a positive sign for it to do well.
  15. I'm surprised to hear about Magic Mountain. I thought that was a pretty well established and popular theme park up there with Disneyland.
  16. In potential danger are: Six Flags Darien Lake outside Buffalo, N.Y. Six Flags Waterworld in Concord, Calif. Six Flags Elitch Gardens in Denver, Wild Waves and Enchanted Village outside Seattle Six Flags Splashtown in Houston Six Flags Magic Mountain and Hurricane Harbor near Los Angeles http://www.thehawaiichannel.com/travelgeta...159/detail.html
  17. I'm sick of the crime too. So sick of it! I was just talking about this with someone earlier this evening. Every night and every morning on the news, a shooting at a SW Houston apartment complex, as well as other areas. I literally had a nightmare the other night after the latest report came out about the rise in crime. It infuriates me hearing these stories, like the store owner who was murdered in front of his wife and son the other day, or those two puddles of bile who ran over and killed that baby, the crap who followed the Harwin store owner home and then robbed her, the garbage who broke into a home and tied up the 12-year-old kid while they robbed the place, the countless shootings. My blood is boiling just typing this.
  18. Brandon was on Fox 26 last night, shown practicing at MMP and he said he's feeling really good. He said he'll go down to Corpus and pitch a few innings there and see how it goes. I hope he'll be back and healthy. He's so passionate and such an Astros fan himself, being raised in Galveston. I love how he gets all excited while watching from the dugout. I don't think he sits down. But yeah, I love Brandon. I even have a purple Backe 41 T-shirt.
  19. Does anyone know when Brandon Backe will be back?
