  1. Yikes! I was just kidding! I figured since no one responded to that comment for several days, you all picked up on it.
  2. What do you think of this "coincidence"? TXCN was on and they said that Lucky Strikes might be going into the Dallas downtown area as well. Didn't this same thing happen right after they announced the Houston HOB? I think I know what you're talking about, but I'm trying to picture it. I think putting it in some hole in the wall in an old building would add to the charm of it.
  3. What they need downtown is a Ripley's/Wax museum. Yes, they certainly do. They can stick it in a hole in the wall somewhere.
  4. I'm not talking about strap adjusting. I'm talking about when he's at the plate, he does all these quirky things that look involuntary. Watch his eyebrows and his hands. He's always wiping his forehead with his hands as if he's brushing the bangs out of his face or wiping sweat. Only he has no bangs and if it's sweat, sweat beads wouldn't have had time to build up on his forehead as frequently as he wipes it. He kind of reminds me of a spider monkey. Don't tell me you've never noticed. I can't be the only one who watches in fascination when Orlando's at the bat.
  5. You could have, but fortunately for you, it was only mid-day. You're welcome. That was a serious question, by the way. I know Orlando doesn't have Tourette's. I was just trying to be funny. But I think he might have OCD or something. Anyway, I like his quirks. I hope he gets to bat tonight.
  6. Post here all things Astros in 2006. Does anyone know if Orlando Palmeiro has Tourette's syndrome or OCD? With that said, I think he's one of the cutest Astros. Watching him bat is like a simple pleasure to me. Sort of like the sensation of the first bite of parsley or eating steak fries. Hey, Orlando's batting. Gather 'round!
  7. Yea! Dynamo won 5 - 2! I watched on FSN. My first soccer game and I loved it! I'm officially a fan. They said on FSN that they had a good turn out. Dynamo is still a retarded name, though.
  8. So they'll probably get Reggie Bush? I so want to see them at least make it to the playoffs next season. Or at least win more than 3 games. Or at least win some respect.
  9. I'm not well informed on NFL drafts and what all goes on, but are the Texans still pursuing Reggie Bush and/or Vince Young who we've heard so much about? Were they ever or was it just wishful thinking from Texans fans?
  10. Yes, but he said parks. Besides, this is the spring '06 issue. Seems it wouldn't have been much of a problem to edit something like that out. It was actually kind of depressing to read and then think about that picture posted above. It would be nice to know something was brewing. Some sort of talks at least.
  11. Something else interesting is there's a letter from Bill White in the guide and he mentions our theme parks.
  12. Good news! AstroWorld is still here. I sent for a Houston spring '06 visitor's guide from the official visitor's bureau (because I enjoy doing so) and included in the packet was a coupon book for area attractions. Imagine my surprise when I opened it to find an AstroWorld coupon and it doesn't expire until September '06! It seems we've all taken a detour to the Twilight Zone and are stuck in a parallel Houston. We need to get back to real Houston and support AstroWorld before its destruction becomes a reality.
  13. I was getting over a case of strept throat and I took my antibiotics on an empty stomach. That's what made me sick. I vomited in the water right before you step onto the bridge leading up the the battleship (I'm sure there's an appropriate term for it) and then I vomited while I was on the ship.
  14. I read the Lynn Ashby article just a few minutes ago in the Greater Houston Weekly and was going to mention it.
  15. Here's an article concerning the absurdity of renaming the team: http://americandaily.com/article/12438
  16. It was in the children's area. Past the petting zoo. There are some restrooms right by it. Maybe he was hissing. He had teeth which I didn't know ducks had. Did they finish renovating the main entrance? If that's what they were doing. I was there last in December and we had to enter through the gift shop because they had the entrance closed off. Just inside to the left, near the front, they added a new indoor tropical and desert animal feature which is really neat. They have the cutest mother otter and her daugthers (about four or five of them). It was their feeding time and they sounded like little kitties crying for their food. They're so fun to watch. My neice was having her birthday party there that day under one of the pavilions outside and it was freezing (and we had ice cream and lemonade), but because of the cold, the whole place was pretty much a ghost town. Just about the entire zoo was ours for that day. That was very nice. I want to go again soon while it warm, but not unbearably hot.
  17. I like that duck they have that growls. Or is that all ducks. It's scary, but funny.
  18. Ewww! That's a great and postive thing and I hope it does make people think. As for me, I take really good care of myself. I don't need to see those things in person. I'd probably get sick and embarrass myself. I vomited on the historic Battleship Texas once, I wouldn't want to do it in the HMNS. Has anyone gotten sick yet while viewing the exhibit?
  19. What do they smell like? Sorry, just being gross. But really, what do they smell like? And did you touch them? With or without gloves?
  20. BayouCityGirl, I just realized, I mistook yours for the real thing. I meant no offense. I'm so embarrased. Sorry about that. By the way, I agree with you.
  21. Is that supposed to be the downtown skyline behind the word Dynamo? If it is, they should tweak that a bit more. It looks like Anytown, USA. Is/was there really a pro soccer team called Real Salt Lake? If so, now that's about the worst team name ever.
  22. More of a Rockets and Astros fan, but I support the Texans, too, and I will no doubt support our soccer team as well. When it comes to sports it's all Houston and only Houston for me. Will the soccer games broadcast local TV or the radio?
