Dynamos. I'm tired of complaining so I won't go on doing so, but that sounds cartoonish and dumb. That's all.- 504 replies

I saw one of the lava covered people in the Ripley's museum in San Antonio, or maybe it was Dallas, somewhere in Texas. I remember reading a childrens' magazine with a story and pictures of Pompey when I was little. Disturbed me.

I meant to ask, for those who've been, do they have pictures and information on the "plastinates" from when they were alive? I'm sure that would be a lot of interest to attendees. Like their names, where they were from, how old they were, how they died, etc.

I know I wouldn't have a problem eating after. No, you're not supposed to. There was an interesting detailed article about the exhibit on the Houston Chronicle site, but I can't find it now.

"Body Worlds 3" made its Texas debut last week and opened to record crowds at the Houston Museum of Natural Science. Just curious if any of you have attended the exhibit? I have not. That's something that's just not for me. Simply reading articles or seeing pictures of it makes me nauseated. For the last week or so, every time I go to take a bite of food, I can't help but imagine muscles and membranes. I just now ate a tortilla and thought about the billboard of the skinless corpse holding up his entire layer of skin. I don't care if it's considered art, that stuff's nasty. Other the other hand, seeing the exhibit could put me on a nice month-long diet. I've packed on about 5 pounds due to leftover Valentine candy and Girl Scout cookies. Have you seen it in person? I'd love to hear what you thought about it. I find it fasicnating, actually, but I wouldn't go.

I liked Lone Stars at first; back when they announced that we'd be getting a soccer team, but I've since grown to not care for it so I'm glad it's not that.- 504 replies

I remember the bells and fountains at Greenspoint! That's how I defined that mall when I was little. I always wanted to go to the mall with "the neat water".

Channel 11 did a report on this last night. I haven't been inside that library in years, but I'm excited about this. By the way, carpet inside any public building makes my skin crawl.

I like one of the names suggested by one of the posters on the Chronicle website forum: Space City Apollos which they likened to the Golden State Warriors.- 504 replies

Another name being mentioned as a contender is El Toros. I'm with y'all. The more I hear about it, the more I think about it... I want to slap some people. We're going to get stuck with some stupid, generic, high school sounding team name, all because a few turds were offended and, from what I gather, convinced others that they should be offended as well. So messed up! Such a screwed up situation. I'll be especially upset if they go along the lines of Mustangs or El Toros.- 504 replies

Really? That's cool. I bought "The Evening Star" DVD last summer after finding it in a $5 DVD bin at HEB. -

Is that the same one Shirley Maclaine frequented in the movie "The Evening Star"? Great idea. Don't forget the Houston 1836 (love that name now!). Love that, too! -

I've eaten twice (I think) at the Houston Planet Hollywood and once at the Dallas location. Those, too, are pretty much once you've been to one, you've been to them all. House of Blues should be different since it's not only a restaurant, but a music venue as well. -

I know. Do people still make point to visit these whenever they're visiting someplace? I never have a desire to dine there while I'm visiting another city. I used to go to the old Hard Rock Houston location a lot in the '90s, but that wore thin fast.
