Wasn't there a similar thread once before?
The Astrodome to me was rodeos, Ringling Bros. and New Kids on the Block.
-
No, I didn't bid on one. I've always had somewhat of a fascination with them and puppets as well. I had a lot of puppets as a child. But as I stated earlier in the thread I never really wanted a dummy for myself. I wouldn't mind having one but I'd have to have a "special place" for it.
When I was little I had Cabbage Patch Kids and stuffed animals sitting on my closet shelf and I'd have to close the door every night. I can't imagine a ventriloquist doll. They're so sinister looking. Although, as I also said previously in the thread, I do have my Billy Baloney doll in my bedroom closet right now. He stares at me everytime I open the closet door. He's a dummy, but he's small and cute. Not too threatening.
Well ok, he sort of has a creepy face I guess.
He and I are friends, though.

I don't remember it being discussed here. I did read a blurb about it a while back, but forgot about it.

A dummy convention? I don't seem like that big of a dork, do I?
No, I was just looking at dummies on Ebay for fun and I thought that one was funny. I put him downtown just because.

Ha! And he's right here in our backyards!
If that scares you you surely won't want to see this:

New movie out this month supposedly set in a Houston suburb; not sure if the suburb is fictional or not.
Houston's not mentioned in the trailer, but there are plenty of accents to go around.

Today I was in the garden section of Home Depot and out of nowhere started thinking about that song "The Way" by Fastball. It was a moderate hit in the late '90s. No more than 10 minutes later it starts playing over the speakers!
Likewise, either this morning or yesterday morning, again out of nowhere, I was thinking about Olestra and how I hadn't heard anything about it in a long time and wondered if it was still being used in foods. A little while ago I was reading Ken Hoffman's column in the early edition of the Chronicle and someone wrote in asking about Olestra!
I don't like this at all.

Yeah, that's pretty shocking. I saw on the news that he was hospitalized for pneumonia, but was surprised to see on Yahoo just now that he died.

Why is it that when you have breakfast in a restaurant, there's always so much more banging and clattering from the dishes than when you have lunch or dinner? The people are even louder.

I used to watch "Days of our Lives". I was obsessed with Austin Peck. Even stalked him twice when he came to Houston.

MidtownCoog:
If Fulton were so fine her picture would be in color, not black and white.
Fulton's a dude.
MidtownCoog:We all look beautiful in black and white.
Very true.

Someone contact Quanell X, he has not been in the news lately anyways.
The Houston way indeed.

For fried chicken? Yuck.

You're right. There is a whole lot of whitey on the list.

We're on embarrasing stories now?
I think I told about the time I got freaked out in a wax museum when I was a teenager. I got separated from my aunt and cousin and pretty much had an anxiety attack. I was alone, so I thought, desperately trying to get out. My heart was pounding. I'd come to a curtain and hesitate before opening it. It was like a horror movie and it wasn't even the scary part of the museum. I finally came across some other people and almost ran them over. I think I scared them. Eventually I got to the exit, collected myself, tried to act cool and the guy who worked there asked if I was ok. I was so ashamed of myself.
I've always been borderline automatonophobic, but then I like it so.

That Fulton Davenport is pretty hot.

You've all been begging, so here it is!

crunchtastic:
There are pictures of me (not in my possession, unfortunately) wearing black satin knee-pants, suspenders, and white face.
When I first glimpsed at that sentence, I thought it said "There are pictures of my possession".
All of your names are in color to me. I have grapheme synesthesia.

Bagpipes, yes! So hot. I've always wanted to learn to play the accordion myself.
I'm also a semi-pianist. Very semi.

I hate chicken that has that "bird taste". You know what I'm saying?

I once had to have my head amputated.

Listening to live music on a cd/mp3. Odd or no?
You mean live as in a concert? I don't think it's odd at all. I'm not much of a fan of recorded "live" music, but I've never found it odd. I used to have Vanilla Ice Live.

Real grapefruit juice (not that grapefruit cocktail BS)
I agree with you, Timmy. It has to be 100%. Those juice cocktalis are vile.

Yawn.
