  1. No, I didn't bid on one. I've always had somewhat of a fascination with them and puppets as well. I had a lot of puppets as a child. But as I stated earlier in the thread I never really wanted a dummy for myself. I wouldn't mind having one but I'd have to have a "special place" for it.

When I was little I had Cabbage Patch Kids and stuffed animals sitting on my closet shelf and I'd have to close the door every night. I can't imagine a ventriloquist doll. They're so sinister looking. Although, as I also said previously in the thread, I do have my Billy Baloney doll in my bedroom closet right now. He stares at me everytime I open the closet door. He's a dummy, but he's small and cute. Not too threatening.

Well ok, he sort of has a creepy face I guess.

He and I are friends, though.

  2. Today I was in the garden section of Home Depot and out of nowhere started thinking about that song "The Way" by Fastball. It was a moderate hit in the late '90s. No more than 10 minutes later it starts playing over the speakers!

Likewise, either this morning or yesterday morning, again out of nowhere, I was thinking about Olestra and how I hadn't heard anything about it in a long time and wondered if it was still being used in foods. A little while ago I was reading Ken Hoffman's column in the early edition of the Chronicle and someone wrote in asking about Olestra!

I don't like this at all.

  3. We're on embarrasing stories now?

I think I told about the time I got freaked out in a wax museum when I was a teenager. I got separated from my aunt and cousin and pretty much had an anxiety attack. I was alone, so I thought, desperately trying to get out. My heart was pounding. I'd come to a curtain and hesitate before opening it. It was like a horror movie and it wasn't even the scary part of the museum. I finally came across some other people and almost ran them over. I think I scared them. Eventually I got to the exit, collected myself, tried to act cool and the guy who worked there asked if I was ok. I was so ashamed of myself.

I've always been borderline automatonophobic, but then I like it so.

  4. Lockmat:

Listening to live music on a cd/mp3. Odd or no?

You mean live as in a concert? I don't think it's odd at all. I'm not much of a fan of recorded "live" music, but I've never found it odd. I used to have Vanilla Ice Live.
