How long has the current train been there?
-
Thanks for clearing that up, musicman. That's news to me. She seemed like a likeable, down-home personality.
-
Oh? Would you like to elaborate?
-
I could not find the previous thread on the ZaZa, so I apologize for posting this here. You can move it if you want.

I noticed Cynthia Hunt's name in the photo gallery. Looks like the same Cynthia Hunt, the one with the strong southern accent, who used to be with channel 2. I thought she moved to an affiliate away from Houston.

Thanks, it sounds gorgeous! And exciting.

So did anyone go last night? I'm curious to see some reviews. I expect Shelby Hodge to have a write-up soon.
I've actually only been inside the Warwick once and that was for a wedding reception when I was 13.

Two years seems like a long time for renovations, but I think they said from the beginnng that it would be closed for two years.

I'm not sure where exactly the location will be, but it sounds like it could be a great candidate for the Pavilions:

Edited:
Sorry, I don't think it's going to allow the full article, but it's a store called "House of Hoops" and it's opening soon in New York followed by locations in Las Vegas, Houston, Chicago and L.A.

Complete for the 2009 season? That sounds so soon.

Thanks for the information, Ethanra. Can't wait to hear what they've decided for sure.

I'm sure Plastic would be honered to have a subforum all to himself/herself.

I think we're expected to hear an official announcement on the Dynamo stadium in mid May. Hopefully within the next week or so.

PS, the large balconies outside that door facing towards GRB WAS a good place to eat, smoke a cig as you enjoy the nice scenery & skyline before you, but it will be blocked with a new skyscraper going up. Glad I enjoyed while it lasted!
That's the thing I don't like. I loved the view from the terrace. But everything that's going up will be better.

When is his restaurant supposed to open at Memorial City Mall? I wonder if Houstonians will even bother eating there now.

Roger Clemens is going to the Yankees. It's now official. I thought he was going with the team he thought had the best chance of making it to the world series. From what I heard, that's Boston.
Big surprise. At least it's over. I hope he and Andy are a big flop.

I think TNT recycled those shots. I've seen that same guy wearing that striped shirt at the Aquarium fountains before.

Well, that's the name of that tune.
Once again they can't make it past the first round! Frustrating!
But it's just a game. There's always next year. I still love the Rockets as I do my other Houston teams, the only sports teams I care about. Can't do anything but root for them.
Some advice to Charles Boozer of the Utah Jazz: where clear deoderant. Every time he went to the free throw line you could see clusters of white deoderant tangled up in his sweaty under arm hair.
-
I think it's going to be auctioned.
-
I love the Rockets, but if they beat the Jazz tomorrow, I think the Warriors are going to tear them up in round 2. I hope not, but I fear so.

Continued redevelopment efforts is at 63%. That's what I voted.
Houston Biz Journal forgot to put the P in redevolopment. It says redeveloment.

The link says "system error".

That would be bizarre, hell its Houston anything is possible! I freaked out the other day that The Kemah Boardwalk is building one! Appeared to be wooden? Good bye in next high winds. Maybe steel was too expensive. Insure that sucker.
I was just kidding (halfway anyway).
I think maybe Kemah is going for the classic Coney Island type look and feel and that's why they chose to do a wooden coaster. Have you seen pictures? It looks really neat.
These were taken by someone over on the SixFlagsHouston forum:

I wish they'd put a roller coaster downtown a la the one in Las Vegas at New York New York. We already have a ferris wheel.

Wow, that long? I wonder what they'll do with it. Hopefully put it on display somewhere.
