Looks like the Near Northside community is organizing to try to stop this project or at least heavily modify its current design in collaboration with Air Alliance Houston. https://www.nohardyhighway.com/ Quotes from a letter Air Alliance Houston sent to the Harris County Commissioner's Court

Food looks really good which is no surprise given Agricole's success with their other dining concepts. Looking forward to trying it out.

True Anomaly finally announced this project. Sounds like they plan to stay on St. Emanuel until the I-45 project forces them out. A few nice progress pics in this post https://www.instagram.com/p/C044Mxgs43H/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== -

Awesome news. I recently visited a city with phone wallet tap to pay integration and it was sooo nice to not have to worry about carrying cash, downloading an app, or loading a card to catch a ride. Hopefully Metro markets this as I really think it helps tear down some of those subconscious barriers that prevent people from utilizing the bus system.

At long last, San Antonio is set to break ground on the metro's first mass transit line. This project will be a BRT line that will connect the airport to downtown, pass through Southtown and Mission Concepción, then terminate at Brooks City Base. There a lot to not like about this project (sharing lanes with vehicular traffic, no barrier between BRT lane and traffic lane, too many turns and stops, etc.) but it still represents a huge step forward for San Antonio, a city that has been incredibly resistant to funding public transportation. Hopefully this project succeeds and spurs further expansion and investment. https://keepsamoving.com/advanced-rapid-transit/ https://sanantonioreport.org/san-antonio-via-advanced-rapid-transit-greenline/

There are smoke scrubbing systems that work pretty well (I think J Bar M has them), but they're quite expensive and I don't think a restaurant of this size will have volume to be able to afford a system like that. I guess we're just replacing coffee bean scent with mesquite scent 😁 -
Request For Proposal By The City Of Houston At 800 N. Velasco St.
EastwoodEnvoy replied to Urbannizer's topic in Going Up!
Some interesting info on the website. Hopefully some HAIFers will be able to attend the meeting on the 26th. This is going to be a massive undertaking to clean up. Around 35' of toxic waste 😵💫 Looks like the plan is for the land bank to submit a grant proposal to the EPA in November and if approved it will take $5-7 million over 4+ years to complete the clean up.- 48 replies

4107 McKinney St

This property was part of the Eastwood Home Tour this past weekend. I wasn't able to check it out myself but my neighbor said a coffee shop will be going into the caboose, and a BBQ spot will be moving into the restaurant space in the market building. Just hearsay for now, hopefully we'll get more news soon. -
Ironworks Campus - 711 Milby St.

Ironworks is expanding with a second phase right behind their first location. Figured it made sense to keep the entire Ironworks project under a single forum topic. https://www.instagram.com/p/CyCNddeJ2C1/?img_index=1 -
Was surprised there wasn't a post for this address yet, had to finally stop lurking and create an account to make sure it was posted. The site of the former King Fuels gas station has been boarded up for a few months, and I've seen demolition dumpsters next to the building. There is a continuous security fence around both the gas station site, as well as the vacant lot behind it. The combined site looks to be a total of 1.04 AC per this LoopNet advertisement. I believe the structure shown at the bottom of the picture below was demolished a while ago. Would love to see this site developed into a mixed-use mid-rise with some ground level retail given its proximity to the Coffee Plant station on the Green Line.
