  1. I haven't been yet, but my friends who live off Lawndale love Mr. Donut (if you were looking for a donut place on the East End): https://g.co/kgs/4uT2SH
  2. More re: Cafe TH. Stopped by today for farewell food. They ran out of food around noon. Minh seemed to be happy to be leaving their spot (it seems they may have had some issues with building management?). But he seemed confident that he'll open up another concept in the future and like he wanted to stay in the East End community if possible. You'll be missed Cafe TH and Minh. We'll be the first in line at your new place!
  3. There were also some cool little shops in a couple of the containers that were open. One was a little local makers market. The second was a vintage clothing place: https://www.instagram.com/cargohouston/
  4. That's too bad. I got a latte, and it reminded me of Xela which I enjoy. It was kind of pricey though.
  5. So cool inside. And Segundo has some solid coffee and baked goods from Koffeteria!
  6. Their Facebook: https://m.facebook.com/corazoncoffee1/?_se_imp=0wT3vu3bwQumzUQ07 The June 1 post mentions the new "EADO" location.
  7. Okay everyone. All together now... 🕯️ 🕯️ 🕯️ 🕯️ HEB 🕯️ 🕯️ 🕯️ 🕯️
  8. I don't know very much about it - could someone explain to me how environmentally friendly and cost effective having a golf course in our climate is? We get lots of rain and the grass must get scorched in the summer...
  9. With the redevelopment they have planned at Tony Marron park, I think this will be a great location for this kind of development.
  10. Not sure what is going into the former building, but the skate shop moved up to 4201 Navigation Blvd.
  11. I'm over in the Second Ward and a lot of it seems to be "why build here when it'll flood/ it's a toxic waste site" or "should use the money on other development/ other parts of town" or "it's going to fail like such-and-such other development" It's really disheartening. But I'm not sure whether it's the new transplants or old time residents that oppose it.
  12. I find it interesting that whenever this project is mentioned on Nextdoor, it seems people are SO against it, so then I retreat back to HAIF to be among my excited people.
  13. Agreed that affordable housing is important, and I'm happy a handful of complexes are going in on the East End. I also think that affordable housing should be spread equitably throughout the city. Cute picture!
  14. Yup - just a joke! Well, joking about the affordable housing part. Not the HEB part. Inject the HEB into my veins and neighborhood!
  15. Was a tenant/ tenants confirmed for this? It looks great!
  16. Honestly (and unfortunately?), most people would be driving here. So I'm sure as long as there's some kind of parking structure/ lot I think it'll be a big draw. Personally, I look forward to when they improve the Buffalo Bayou east trail to reach here to we can bike there!
  17. Teaspresso, a boba tea shop, broke ground a few days ago (https://www.instagram.com/teapressobarhtxeado/). This will be their second location (first location is in the Heights). Looks like they're slated to open this summer.
  18. Right. I just meant keeping the tracks instead of ripping them out entirely, and then adding bike lanes and other bike/ pedestrian friendly design. I didn't mean having bike riders ride near/ on the track of anything.
  19. That mural is so beautiful! Thanks for the pics.
