  1. Found a company "White Rhino Cantina" registered with active sales permits for the co-located address (319 Milby St.). They have a Facebook and an Instagram, but neither have been updated in a few years. Curious if the same company is still planning on this location. Looks to be a Mexican restaurant with a beer garden. The land owned is the current building and the lot next door with the Winnebago in it.
  2. Anyone know what's going on here? Corner of Milby & Garrow. Saw them rebuilding the exterior walls and now they have siding board up. Construction workers there every AM when I drive by.
  3. Maybe irrelevant to this specific thread, but I heard that Tout Suite has "every intention of remaining in the East End" after the expansion.
  4. Saw they had gutted the interior yesterday evening. Tried to snap a pic but not the best quality. One less abandoned building in the area!
  5. Copa Cabana Club for sale 280k. Could make an interesting corridor of Milby + Harrisburg if a commercial group scoops this land up. https://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/306-Milby-St_Houston_TX_77003_M90677-61512?cid=prt_patch_listings_web_forSale
  6. Name change to "Ironworks" - Kaldis is pre-leasing for a Summer 2020 availability.
  7. Variance Request up at this address. Can someone explain what “unrestricted reserve” means?
  8. Equipment on site. Looks like they've already demolished the front awning.
  9. The article that was recently posted suggested they're taking their talents to Westheimer.
  10. Thanks, @I'm Not a Robot. Let's hope that they see returns on the Navigation development and decide to pursue the Jensen property as well. Fingers crossed!
  11. I haven't seen info on the stall of 400 jensen. Can you provide a link to that?
  12. @phillip_white, I sure hope so. I know people often complain about the "riff raff" around the area, but I don't disagree with them. There are often people sitting in the sidewalk and roaming in the open streets which does deter regular foot traffic from that area.
  13. Heard this will be first floor retail, second floor office space and maybe a rooftop lounge? http://powersbrown.com/commercial-3/adaptive-reuse/908-live-oak/ Sign will stay so you can live, @j_cuevas713.
  14. Commercial leasing website is saying it will be available as soon as mid-2020. Fingers crossed. Frankel's will take forever because *Lovett*. Kind of frustrating they ignored all of the relevant "current and future residential" areas north of the train tracks in the Second Ward/East End.
  15. Loving the way this area is coming together. This development combined with the eventual completion of the Polk Street district will make for a really interesting retail sector in the East side and will hopefully better connect Eado to Eastwood and the Second Ward.

  17. Just to clarify, is this slated to finish next year or 2021? Can't find specific completion date estimates.
  18. The East End District is really lawyering the wording of whether East River will happen. "Could be home to", etc. What's the likelihood this doesn't get approved? https://www.eastenddistrict.com/multi-million-dollar-investments-in-east-end-houston-break-ground/
  19. @mkultra25, thank you for the thoughtful response. I'll do that!
  20. Looks like 19 of 120 homes will be sold below market rate, and initial agreements are for completion before December 2020. Seems far fetched on both accounts, but if 83% are going to be sold at market value I'm excited for this development. This is from last year. I'm curious what, if anything, has changed for this agreement:
  21. @IronTiger I'm moreso just looking for historic photos of things nearby to have and frame as a memorial to the neighborhood. Old stores along harrisburg/navigation, lady of guadalupe church, parks, etc. Not sure where to look - any suggestions? Thanks!
  22. My house was built in 1930 (East End/Second Ward) and I'm trying to find historic photos of either the home or the close-by neighborhood. Could anyone help direct me where to look?
