GreenStreet: Mixed-Use Development At 1201 Fannin St.
T 2 THA C replied to MontroseNeighborhoodCafe's topic in Downtown
This is awesome I'm sure there is still a good chance of some of those requested stores being built here if not something better. I hope at least. At very least! -

I would have liked the condo concept also, It would have been nice! Just good to see/hear they are going to start on the project? Curious to see who's on the final list of tenants other than who already has announced so. -
Dose this include the ramp from 610? or just the building itself?

Ii was referring to the 59/45 interchange. I would like to see them rebuild it with the Marquette intersection in mind. -

"Ugliest" Interchange in Houston
T 2 THA C replied to GovernorAggie's topic in Traffic and Transportation
I like the idea of that interchange! Are there any future plans as of now to rebuild this intersection. I also think they should rebuild the entrance exit ramps between downtown and Spur 5 on the Gulf Fwy. During rush hour the students from UH trying to get to and from school backup the main lanes as the ramps are full. I know thats 35 that runs next to 45, but i was thinking maybe there was some better way to make those exit ramps hold more traffic. -

How many stories is the Williams Tower, I doubt it would diminish the Impact. Uptown is builind many medium sized structures, I wonder when and if we would see something as tall as the Williams over there.

You think once Houston's population increases. with bidirectional HOV & HOT lanes his may be possible. I guess by then the LRT/GRT and commuter lines would make up for this.

I have never been down there before. I know they are open only on the weekdays prob why i have never been down there! Where are the entrances for the tunnels I would like to see what they look like even if its not that great. I probably have the same look ol' face as that lady?

If the East End project dose not work out, then why not rebuild Del Marr stadium with HISD. I would rather have the stadium in the vicinity of Downtown, but the land prices, and the opposition on the east seems to make this a no win. Cy-Fair has the Berry Center, Katy has theirs, and HISD just completed their new HQ building. NW mall is fading away, as well as the surrounding area. I think with HISD they could make this work with the fields and all, plus HISD could rebuild that piss stinking basketball Gymnasium. This could help resurrect NW Mall and the surrounding area. They are rebuild 290, with toll road down Hempstead that is directly behind the mall and runs by Del Marr, with commuter rail, and direct connections to 610 and most likely the NW TC, so mass transit would no be a problem. I am a Little biast seeing I live on Mangum right down the street, and I have friends that remember that Golf course since the beginning of their time. I defiantly would want the stadium in the city limits, and I'm not entirely opposed to the east end site, but i do not know the traffic situation in that area per say, but I do know the infrastructure over there needs improvement

"Ugliest" Interchange in Houston
T 2 THA C replied to GovernorAggie's topic in Traffic and Transportation
Yea I'd Say The 59/45 interchange, Pierce Elevated, 45 Allen Parkway, 45/ I-10, 45 610 North, 59 /288, and the rebuilt 610/59 Galleria. The Downtown Interchanges really do need to be upgraded to current Traffic conditions. Its really sad they completely closed Pierce elevated and basically rebuilt the same design. I would have thought with a closure like that they would have really improved the conditions to this area. All the designs downtown except the 59/I10 need to be rebuilt. I like the design of 45/610 North, every time I drive buy I think this is what it was like driving back in the day. Which makes my point this design is no good for todays traffic. I wonder since they are rebuilding 610 on the east of 45 will they rebuild the West north loop. I was driving down 59 from the Southwest into downtown, and looked at the spur 527 interchange, and thought they are going to have to redo this interchange, as I believe they would add lanes and improved ramps. I was thinking they should probably depress the rest of that section as well seeing how it depress under 288. Traffic always backs up here and causes backups, on 59 and 45 cause of this. I really wished they just would have completed this with the spur 527 reconstruction. The galleria I though they could have rebuilt that interchange with new improved ramps, as it looks to me that intersection was built like the BW8/I10 w interchange, on current ROW. I wished they would have made longer direct connect ramps for the traffic to backup on, so it dose not disturb mainlines. -

I hope there are more plans for the bayou east of San Jacinto, I noticed the city just completed a bayou or trail to sidewalk connection at the end of Austin @ Commerce. With Discovery Green going up I hope that influences the decision to follow the BB master plan! -

Houston-Galveston rail within 5 years
T 2 THA C replied to kw_uh97's topic in Traffic and Transportation
This would be great for the city of Houston and Galveston! Picture taking a Lrt/Grt to the Intermodal to a commuter train to G-Town. I would love that not to have the hassle of driving. -
My boss received a letter from Metro saying they would be contacting us regarding the relocation process if needed. I work in a strip center on the Southwest corner of OST and MLK. There is a Shell station in the middle of MLK that I think they will tear out an will not need any ROW on either side of MLK,Hopefully. The gas station owner said Metro said they might tear it out after all but he wasn't sure. Although I think this construction will hurt business ass did the Spur 5, MLK/Calhoun Realigning, closure, & construction. I am optimistic it will improve business as did the spur 5 construction. Man when they get this Lrt/Grt built with 35 through to Beltway 8, this area might see some revitalization. I do not like to see gentrification per say but the infrastructure in this area really needs to be improved.

I agree we invested too much in Carr, I know its been 5 Years but now we have a coach in Gary Kubiack(hoped I spelled right) that can make him better. They do need consistency at the O-line and look to improve there. Ryans was outstanding and Mario is a super human, that will hopefully develop unlike Babin and Travis Johnson.
