Paywall... any relevant quotes you can give?

Oh sorry! It's not if you google news search it. Here:

    Quote

Private lender Development Finance Partners is backing Melbourne developer Caydon Property Group with a funding injection of more than $100 million.

Caydon’s projects include suburban Melbourne apartments, as well as developments in the US where it is building a 27-storey, 357-apartment and retail project in Houston, and a 30-storey, 200-apartment site in Seattle.

The DFP deal comes as bank funding becomes more difficult to access for some developers, due to tighter lending restrictions placed on banks by APRA. The clampdown has forced some developers to turn to alternative lenders.

  2. Speaking of residential, a development sign finally went up on the lot on the southeast corner of La Branch and Elgin.

UPDATE 7/19/17: Per the Houston Permitting site, 4 residents have building permits now (Assuming this is 3203-3211 La Branch).

UPDATE 7/20/17: But not sexy enough for a new post. They broke ground on this yesterday apparently.

I walked to 1MC today from OST--wanted to try the cafeteria again because I can't eat at Luby's every day.  Pickings are slim in the area.

The sign for this place certainly caught my interest.  There will be food!  Still no construction, but it will improve the area.

But the cafeteria here sucks! :)

    more townhouses = more people

more people = more demand for retail

more demand for retail = greater chance of cool retail center popping up

all this -> more demand for housing, forcing midrises

I wonder how long it will be before a developer buys a block of 36 town houses and builds a condo building or apartment building.  It'll be years, but how many years?

Ha who knows. I'm just impatient :)

Not sure, im assuming they're taking core samples. I drive past there every day as well. It would be a great location for a cafe. I feel that area has so much residential and is pretty under served. I dont know of any coffee/sandwich shops within walking distance of Baldwin park.

This is on the plat report for next week's meeting - more townhouses :|

  6. Well I missed that post above!

I wrote Boykins's office last week asking for an update since I thought this development was imperative after the demolition of the Kroger on OST. No response of course. But there is another article about this out yesterday:

They basically made the large field and stage available for the weekends events. The park, if not already closed, will close this week for completion and not re open until later in the year. I thinks its best we hold judgment.

You're correct that we should withhold judgment about the final product. The fact that it wasn't completed is the main bone of contention.
