will now be immediately facing a massive freeway underneath a park.. If that park happens it will be a great thing for Eado. Klyde Warren didn't exactly kill that part of Dallas.

Correct. "The project will take two years to build, Hourani said. It'll sit at the site of the Best Western at 6700 Main St., which Medistar bought around 2006 or so, Hourani said. Medistar will demolish the hotel in the second or third quarter of 2018; the construction will coincide with the tower's groundbreaking."

Pending UT approval, of course. Really hoping the vote goes through at their next Board of Regents Meeting.

This project doesn't happen without parking. This is a fantastic project for the area and I live one block from here so as a nearby resident and user of these trails, I love it.

There are 400 unit apartment complexes along Washington, yes. The amount of new apartments/townhomes and development within a 6 block walking distance of Washington is a fair amount of people, specifically young people that would use this transit. I think it would be very successful.

I could see HEB being in a mixed-use project on the south side of Downtown, capturing both Downtown/Midtown, and WF on the north side more towards Market Square since that is more their clientele. With the Astros winning the World Series and Crane's plan to put a park next to MMP, I am very excited for the next residential boom in downtown and all that will come with it.

Has anyone heard of a development going up on the Northeast corner of 5th and Yale across from the Alexan? It's been fenced off for a few days with a sign saying 'Spring 2018 9,000 SF Retail'.

I have no inside information, but feel good about this building not changing its facade. They are really targeting Chinese capital, and the fact that ICBC just moved into a full-floor at Williams Tower tells me Houston is continuing to be a big gateway market for Asian investment. I wouldn't be surprised if the equity partner came from China and then ICBC provided the construction loan. Failed to reference, but HBJ article states: 'The Houston office is expected to offer corporate lending, real estate lending, cash management and credit card financial services'

I would love to see a picture of this from someone flying into town at night, or if a network picked it up for a Rockets/Playoff baseball game.

Drewery Place: Multifamily High-Rise At 2850 Fannin St.
CREguy13 replied to Urbannizer's topic in Midtown
The Greensheet building being renovated does not mean they are not moving forward - the Caydon site surrounds the building and is excluded. If anything, I would guess they start working on plans sooner rather than later.- 1,569 replies

This strikes me as a 'Bank of the Southwest' type project. Overly ambitious as a result of the times and never gets built. Hope I'm wrong as this would be awesome, but it just feels that way.
