A 500-700 footer would great in that spot. 378ft is ridiculous. Its in the same lane as the no height limit Perot spot so it deserves another analysis. Yea 1080ft would be off balance.
I believe they still have Harwood signs up in that area.

Oh yea I heard about it. I nearly forgot about Hi-Forum towers. It sure got the internet and ME excited though.
Im really surprised they at least couldn't have got an 800footer out of it.
The more I thought about it those towers in that spot might have looked awkward.
The tallest should be closer to the core like the Perot spot.
Im sure Harwood will ask for another analysis. We'll have to wait and see.

Yes, annexation will grow your population (Dallas does have some area it can still annex to the south btw)
But land area isnt the only thing that effects population. Chicago is only 234sqmiles yet its population is large(though Houston could take its place but that's another topic) Dallas' proper density is increasing a lot right now and I think it's going to be very close with SA next census time.
Population rankings aren't that important to me though. If Dallas became the 10th largest city in Texas that would be great. Driving would be a breeze.

Austin is lower than I thought. I thought at least 2.5 million.

They just started. Maybe the crane will go up soon. Should be a fast project since its little building.
They call it the Rolex because they are gonna try to make it look like a watch. Apparently Rolex is now suing them because their use of the name.

Toronto-based builder Great Gulf plans to begin selling luxury condos in its 20-story condo tower at prices ranging upwards of $14 million, with plans to begin construction in fall 2016.
The tower, called Ltd. Edition 2505, will begin selling homes ranging from $1.3 million to $14 million this Saturday.
Some reports are stating this will be 22 story+
“We see Dallas as an opportunity to create a strong base for us in the United States,” he added. “We hope to do many more projects in Dallas and we plan to set up an office when we move into construction on both these projects.”

I have to agree with Native. I go to DMetropolis to peruse but I HATE their layout and it IS one of the reasons I enjoy this site (and Fort Worth's Page too) as well as SSC..
I wish Dallas would get a site just like this one.
To Native's question:
The tallest U/C is the 33 story Bleu Ciel
&
30 Story Katy Station.
There's some other news I will update on the development thread later.

Agreed I don't want D Ellum turning into another trust fund baby douchebag haven.
I like how the new towers sort of look like they blend into DE. Nothing wrong with having some lower cost towers for more of us non-millionaires. We don't need golden toilets.

Uptown is dense as heck now. It seems like some development is finally spilling over to the east side (Deep Ellum) and Oak Cliff.
Yea, I've been putting as much as I could on the development thread. Check it out. Feel free to add to it.
The Deep Ellum Towers are already U/C so I've heard. I predict more in the future.
