Just got back from there. I took this about an hour ago off Harry Hines.
My beloved Katy Station looked great. Its probably hitting 25 stories now but I couldn't safely get a shot. Traffic was moving too fast and there was a wreck with a train!!(?)

Work crews have demolished a building on downtown Dallas' near east side to make way for a major mixed-use project.
The former Grainger building on Gaston Avenue near Good-Latimer Expressway has come down to make way for Westdale Properties' Epic development.Westdale has teamed up with developers KDC and StreetLights Residential to plan a hotel, office and residential development they call Epic

Gables is asking for city approval to build a tower of about 20 stories on part of the 7-acre site. The block fronting Blackburn Street would remain low-rise construction.
Another high rise is cool but Im tired of these 20 story squatters. Theyve built so many of them you'd think they'd come together and build something at least 30 stories for this Cityplace area. Heck, Cityplace tower is 42 stories/560ft you'd think the FAA would at least allow a 400footer right there.
Re-zone the area. Tower must be AT LEAST 30 stories.

Awesome pics. Katy Tower looking about halfway in height. Blue Ciel, slow and steady but have patience, she'll get there. This pic with Midtown/Galleria in the background is baaaad. Just wait till Scott Beck or Hillwood get another tower up over there.

Interesting, JasnoDTX.
The furthest places I've seen the Dallas skyline are:
1) Sam Rayburn Tollway at W Spring Creek Parkway
2) Southlake Boulevard at Byron Nelson Parkway
Wow number 2 is pretty far I think. When you're in Dallas check out the location I mentioned. Its a nice high elevation too. It kinda makes you think youre in LA or something. ))

^I believe I can see the crane tower from just north of Royal lane on Abrams. I drive that way often and it will be great to see it rise. This spot in Lake Highlands has a great view of the skyline some don't know about. Texan41 knows what Im talking about.

The mayor Mike Rawlings just proposed a new Trinity River plan a couple of weeks ago. It looks amazing and it deals with the flooding issues too.. Im not sure its been posted on here yet.

Yes, and there's at least as good of chance it won't be built at all.
Are you being pessimistic or optimistic?

The Dallas galleria area kind of reminds me of Houston. I don't know what it is... Just the whole design of it reminds me of Houston.
Yea because Houston built it. (HInes)

These 2 30 story+ bldgs are really gonna help change the cityscape in that area but dang Bleu Ciel seems so slow to grow.

With so many companies trying to attract Millienials....isn't that age discrimination?
Im 3 years removed from being a millienial and the thought of being passed up for a position ,even if I have more experience, for some Vine, snapchat, instacrap obsessed youngster (no offense to you all)just doesnt seem right at all.
It isnt. And keep in mind millienials: The same will happen to you.

15 years is too long haha. Hopefully less than 5. They need to be creative on how to get it done. Its gonna have to be mixed use with residential like LA's Wilshire Grand.

Excellent compilation as always Sic'em!
QuoteCool. Thanks. Let's add some information about the status of these projects:
25 projects
12 are under construction
1 has site-clearing activity
12 are in various stages of proposal, varying from "likely to start later this year" to "fantasy-land.
Good additional info Houston19514.
13 out of 25. Not bad at all
Just remember a year or so ago many of those 13 were also speculative.
