It looks like Uptown Houston with smaller buildings.  Is there a height limit there due to Love Field?

I believe in many spots yes but the tallest u/c or just topped out are:

    34stories

    32

    31

    30

And the tallest existing is of course the 42 story city place. So any height limit seems wishy washy. What is irritating is that it seems that even now they are still proposing more towers in the 20-23 range. Instead of making a hundred of these squatters they could have made half the amount at twice the height or at least in the 30s range. It's okay though. Its all coming together nicely and if you've seen it lately the density is looking impressive. Like a little San Diego.

    AMLI Fountain Place is approved:

    • 46 level residential tower at 1800 N. Field St.
    • Property will be concrete/steel with curtain wall glass facade.
    • 9-level concrete podium garage extending 97' above grade.
    • Resi tower on top of podium is rotated 45 degrees.
    • Tower has 6 corners extending up to 562' above grade.

For comparison, below is AMLI River North in Chicago.

AMLI Fountain Place has submitted its case to the FAA:

The 367-unit tower will contain 45 floors and 600,000 SF.

    Project Location

    45 floors. That's what I'm talking about!

This will be taller than the museum tower. Pretty much a skyscraper to add to the skyline.

Hope it happens. We now we have 2 40+ story structures possibly going up.

    I just got back from uptown. The Bleu Ciel looks like an effing skyscraper. It's starting to become imposing. It helps thats it on a higher elevation. Katy Station turned out great too. I'm loving all of it! Good times. :}

    Thanks for the great pictures.

  5. Atelier is now 40 stories. Prepwork has begun

AMLI is highly probably to get the go ahead. There's more talk about it on SSC. I was thinking it was posted here but guess not.

2 out of 3 ain't bad. Plus that Hall Arts tower at 440 is no slouch. This would be his 2nd out of 3 towers. The third planned is a skyscraper later on.(personally I think he should just skip this one and go big now)

Okay, I'll play along... What are the 40 story buildings on the horizon soon?

I don't blame you for missing them. They were posted in rapid succession on this thread by Sick'em if you search.

    1Atelier Lofts

    2AMLI

Correction: The Craig Hall tower will supposedly be 440ft so it may not be 40 story but still a good height.

    Search this thread.

You think so?  Not very impressive.  Please come to HTown were the Texas Medical Center is larger then Downtown Dallas.  In a few years Houston will have a huge downtown when Midtown, Downtown, Greenway Plaza, and of course the Galleria Uptown district will be combined.

Of course. Houston is amazing. That's why I like posting on this site and looking at updates. But you have to realize any Dallas bldg 30 stories or better u/c are a big deal. We are fortunate to have 4 of them 30+ under construction right now with a possible 3× 40 story bldgs on the horizon soon!

Because JEC already has a place in the Harwood Center, with at least 7 years left on their lease, and has given no indication whatsoever that they are looking for or are interested in looking for a different space.

Yea but they are looking to EXPAND in the CBD. They would want fresh new office space for their HQ. There's no reason why Hillwood couldn't get some of that.

The engineering firm plans to expand its footprint in Dallas' central business district to accommodate the relocation./

  9. Katy Station didnt seem to get a lot of attention when it was announced but its been the one ive been watching closely since the beginning. I knew she was the dark horse and was going to surprise with her style and height. Fast too. Looks gorgeous with 2 stories to go!

Along with Bleu Ciel they are changing the scene.
