Ditto. An example from the 1001 Ross mixed use development in Dallas:

Yeah I see it almost everyday at Main and Polk u/c. Exciting stuff, but only 3 weeks though? Looks like they have a long way to go. -

It's about time. Note the only decent place to buy athletic shoes anywhere near downtown is the Village. -
WOW. I am actually surprised they asked for lofts on top! If building up to the sidewalk and not taking up the whole block for a single use development was too much, the former would have been a hassle. Very sad.

Yep. Krupp & Tuffly needs to make its way back and the Wilson Stationary Building looked so cool back then. Quality website.

It's not that bad of a walk but know that it always feels different in a car.

Westheimer Rd. & Montrose Rd. In The Early 80s

citykid09: You make too much sense and you are putting an end to my argument. I want to rant some more. No but seriously, citykid is hard to take you seriously when people hear comments that seems like everything Houston does there needs to be an upgrade to the next level. Nothing wrong with with that but look what you are saying: You already showed your dissatisfaction for BRT's, and so have I in the past, but then you say there should be an effort to make them look like San Francisco's for whatever reasons. If we did, I am sure a couple of months from now, you would say METRO took the cheap route and could not even build LRT. If your statement is proven false, we can pretty much assume what your next rant would be. By the way, most of San Francisco's buses are already on guided overhead cables for energy purposes although they are incredibly aged. I would assume they are also used because they do not cause pollution, they have low operating/maintenance cost, longer lifespan, and hell they're quiet. With that said, the new Van Ness Bus Rapid Transit is just a bus on the street, but I understand you do not care and you place "aesthetics", totally subjective, over sustainability.

Haha. Truer words have never been spoken. I tune out on some of the global warming stuff for my own reasons, but it is sad that we need the issue to do the right thing and make it into an idelogical difference.
-
Yeah those have always irked me. Also, what is with some of the overhead signs that have lunch platters on them?

Shocking to say the least. I think I only saw this guy on Larry King. I am sure too much is not going to change with the Moral Majority. I am sure he will be remembered and brought up within the M&M's like Ronald Reagan and the GOP.

It is south of Brasil, but on the west side of dunlavy. Directly acroos the street from edin. Brasil just finished a mural where the construction is, so I am assuming it will be part of the interior of some sort of expansion.

Emporium Architectural & Antiques At 515 Morse St.

Shattuck and 65th near the border of North Oakland and Berkeley. -
It's on Dunlavy in between Westheimer and Hawthorne on the west side of the street. I believe Brasil is expanding. Could be wrong.

How many times a week do you watch channel 39 local news?
WesternGulf replied to LarryDallas's topic in Houston and the Media
WOW. You have uncovered my subconscious. A long time ago, I use to like KPRC because from retrospect I can say it use to look like a tradional news setting, whatever the hell that means, now all the new people irk me for some reason. KTRK always seemed kind of slow and now I always watch KHOU. For 9 o' clock news I do watch CW. -
Glen Beck with be all over this. LOL. I believe he is mormon also.

When Will The Light Rail & Commuter Rails Start Construction?
WesternGulf replied to citykid09's topic in Transit
To answer your question, trying to fing long stretches inside the inner loop where the train will not greatly interfere with cars will place passengers at a greater inconvenience when dealing with walking. I.E. the current Westpark proposal. -
When Will The Light Rail & Commuter Rails Start Construction?
WesternGulf replied to citykid09's topic in Transit
OK citykid, I am sure many have asked this question from you before countless times, but other than elevated and underground stretches and "if Dallas can do it why can't we", what would be your solution? -
Who knows. It might ne the name of the private street they're incorporating within it.

That first shot is gorgeous. Haven't been to the zoo in years. Probably in over a decade.

IT IS Beach weekend. Traffic is not light and someone has a nice camera. Are these yours JASON?

If that comparison was not good enough I would then say Braeswood Boulevard. It seems like they both, Almeda/Westpark and Fannin/Richmond are on seprate ends of their respected business districts and one runs through the heart of it rather than the outskirts. Although you would have the barrier of 59 to go under dealing with Westpark.
