  1. The Lofts at the Ballpark. I know their are plenty more but I am lazy.
  2. I would like to see them pull this off with Northline, and they should get some new stores. On the other hand if this is turning into another Gulf Gate, Houston has no idea how to build cities. For goodness sakes. This area will be the future stop for the next light rail line. If anything they should make it an urban atmosphere with street lined shops instead of another strip mall like Gulf Gate. Then they could probably have light rail running pass the shops. But oh well, I guess something is better than nothing for Northline, because the area desperately needs help.
  3. Just think about if this was in downtown. The Reliant Center along with the Auto Show that is.
  4. Who will be the first to spark residential development in the parking lots near the Toyota Center and other parts of downtown? Maybe I am unaware about the residential development that will be happening in downtown for the future, but it seems like other than Shamrock Tower, there is not much going on in that field. I have a feeling that downtown could have a greater residential boom than nearby midtown, but developers are not giving it a chance. If one developer comes in, that could spark interest for developing the rest of the land near the convention center, but I still fail to see that. There are several residential developments on the outskirts of downtown such as Sabine Street, Lofts at the Ballpark, and the 2 new Sterrett Street projects, but look where they are are located. They might as well be in midtown. None of these projects will really have a direct impact on the core of downtown, which is really needed for a city the size of Houston. Downtown has made some drastic changes latley to become more of a neighborhood rather than another office park, but in order for this to happen, we need people. I don't know, I just wish Houston would stop catering to suburban Uptown and worry about the areas that can really change the face of the city. Downtown has too much potential, with surface lots waiting to be used, but developers fail to realize that.
  5. Any idea if this will bring more retail?
  6. Would anybody think it would be a bad idea for some of these projects to be near or surounding the new urban park near the convention center? I hear they will build midrise condos there anyway. Plus it would fill up some of those parking lots.
  7. I don't even think downtown would look like that. Well not anytime soon.
  8. Any news on this so called canal under construction near the square?
  9. That actually wouldn't even look that bad in the city limits. Nice pics. I wish Houston could build some stuff like this from scratch in midtown somewhere.
  10. Westchase is a good place to live when dealing with location and price. The area has really changed also. I remember when the area had a high crime rate.
  11. That fire museum has nice curb appeal. Those type of buildings make great photos. Kind of like the Calais on this webpage. http://texasexplorer.com/MidtownHouston.htm
  12. Check out the views at the website. The daytime ones suck, but the night time ones are .......... well just take a look. http://dominionpostoak.com/
  13. They are buy to own, and are actually pretty affordable compared to places like Manhattan condos. You can get a 3 bedroom/3 bathroom that is over 2000 square feet for 339K.
  14. Well we can look forward to seeing construction of The Edge. I thought this building was going to be stucco, but it looks like it will be brick. Love brick buildings. They just look more urban, and they age very well.
  15. I would like to find out more info on the Midtown TIRZ.
  16. I wish some of these projects would go downtown to easily fill up the surface lots.
  17. The website is now up. The music is really funny. How lucky will those rich bastards be lving up there. Orion
  18. Well the second one seems pretty affordable for the look of it. Thanks for the info.
  19. I think it is kind of hidden for someone not from Houston.
  20. Does anyone have any pictures or info on these buildings under construction in downtown. They are two townhome properties located in downtown that I believe are very pedestrian friendly.
  21. I don't think Batou Place is that bad. I kind of hate how far away it is from the sidewalks and to the street. I always thught Houston's Hard Rock Cafe was kind of small for a city its size.
  22. Houston has had a lot of construction also. Since 2000, Houston has had 16 buildings built over 300 feet. That is not even including the ones that are 20 stories tall or under 300 feet.
