  1. I had a rendering of this building and it is hideous. Hopefully this is not the owner from New Mexico. When I have time I'll look for the post which was over a year ago. Regards, Onion Kitty Kat
  2. Good question. A friend of mine that works for United said they are looking at all aspects from the top to the call centers. They are closing Honolulu and Detroit call centers. So they must transfer to Houston or Chicago call centers or work from home. He said they are also looking the Leader of each hub airport due to delayed flights. Upper management is not saying anything now. Oscar Munoz said via memo to employees that he will do so firing, who? Who knows since he is in hospital. They will release the earnings tomorrow. Wall Street projects $4.45 per diluted share but they still need a valid leader to run the company.
  3. He did some cleaning and now he is in the hospital. Please bring back Gordon Bethune!
  4. Big Feet totally of the topic. Get out of the house! LOL!
  5. The CEO fired a lot of upper management. Now he is in the hospital. United still has 17,000 employees in Houston. Things are turning around. The flight attendants surprised me a gave me a free drink from IAH to AUS. The food at the United Club was a full breakfast. As of now Delta is ahead with 77.8% flights on time. United has 72.9%, Southwest 70.1% and American 69.6%. They may not care since they control 80%of the US market.
  6. It is sad but Southwest had a technology glitch last week when they had to cancel about 200 flights. With United having 5,500 flights a day that is very good. Before Jeff left it was really bad. Just got back from Osaka my connection in SFO arrived early! Got into IAH early.
  7. Really odd that for this month United on-time performance is 79.5% number 2 just behind Delta. American and Southwest are last. The pilots wanted him out!
  8. Great for Houston! Two International Airports. Construction on the North Terminal C at IAH is underway. Southwest is a little closer but I need my upgrades. Maybe one day they will have first class.
  9. Again and again someone has nativehoustonian and never use it. Don't call me Onion I thought we were friends.
  10. Urbanizzer posted it a few days ago. The Chronicle has an article that Mr. Keating in in HTown for a big proposal.
  11. http://archinect.com/firms/project/54172102/Houston-tower/125435577 Mr. Keating is in Houston for this huge proposal. In the center of DTH Hustle Town.
  12. Not according to Texas Monthly. The Rangers want a new stadium with a retractable roof.
  13. I'll back and some walked to CVS. Going to watch the game and Whole Foods I'll take photos then. Lot of activity!
  14. I live a few blocks from there and walk by just now. Lots dump trucks and tractors removing dirt to start the foundation! Very exciting!
  15. TMC is larger then DTW Dallas. Texas Children's Hospital is building another 25 floor expansion. Also Methodist and Memorial Herman. They are also doing a huge expansion southward. More than 100,000 people work there.
  16. They also printed t-shirts AL Western champs with the Dallas skyline. Arlington leaders did not like it! LOL! The Rangers apologize and made new t-shirts.
  17. There was a interesting article in the Texas Monthly magazine. Why the Texas Rangers cannot fill their stadium in Arlington. Sports fans in the Metroplex don't want to drive there. Parking is $40 and the Rangers are there till 2024. They are now wanting a retractable stadium in downtown Dallas. Or put a roof on the Cotton Bowl. I have been there to see a game in the summer and it is so hot we left! It is a hassle to get there. Arlington is the largest city without a transportation system.
  18. That area looks like half the size of the Texas Medical Center. Cool!
  19. Also love it, that is where the Bank of Southwest Tower was going to be built. Looks like it behind One Shell Plaza.
  20. I agree, being a native I have never seen Houston so vibrant. Beautiful parks, bike trails, the best restaurants in the country. I'm so mad because I had to work yesterday. Today Washington Ave. will be closed for Walk Houston. So I will ride my bike everywhere and intake everything! I'm so proud of our city and thanks for the pictures.
  21. On the Pierce Elevated is the small pods from "Logan's Run" to bypass the traffic!
  22. I did see a article on the Dallas Morning News "Houston Has A Park" It said too many members have control of the Trinity River and cannot agree what to do. Is that the Toll Road they are building? I'll try to find the video.
  23. Just remember this is because of the war trade with Saudi Arabia. They are now feeling the pinch. What goes down always go up. What goes up always goes down. If they build this tower by the time it is done it will get leased. It has a prime location.
