POST: Mixed-Use Development At 401 Franklin St.
nativehoustonion replied to sevfiv's topic in Going Up!
The owner of Lovett that purchased that site is Frank Lu. He has build tract mansions all over Houston. He was the highest bidder. Now this is big time for him. I have no idea what he will build. Maybe multiple highrises for sale, he never leases. Every now and them he comes to the Houston Tomorrow meetings. Very quiet but needs input from the Houston community.- 1,574 replies

Very strange looks like The Carter in Houston under construction in Houston off Montrose. The same developer from Dallas thanks.

Kitty saw it on the Dallas Morning News and cleaned myself!

How bad, it was posted on skyscraperpage.com the world blog. Whoever posted should remove it. How crazy unless it was a done deal.

Saw it boring.

This proposal is not a proposal according to the Dallas Morning News. Harwood said they old renderings and they have not disclosed what to build there. It was pretty exciting for a few days.

With values often exceeding $1 billon the latest supertall building projects pose new challenges for insurers, as well as for architects and contractors.

I don't like the design. It looks like something they will build in Singapore, or China. It appears to be over 4 million square feet. A city within a city, Tito's for Dallas if it gets built. Honestly I'll believe it when the cranes are there. Being so close to Love Field even getting insurance would cost a lot of money.

How funny!

True, this may be a skyscraper this dynamic when they built Pennzoil Place in the 70's. Plus Gerald D. Hines wants Platinum LEED Certification. He will be in town next Saturday for his 90th birthday along with famous architects in the world.

Yes your right we may be close to 6.6 million. Singapore has 290 square miles very dense. They use there heavy rail system and connect to there Senkang Circulator. Because these commuters to get to their final destination. J. Sam Lott said Paris building right now. They look like the tram system at Bush airport.
-
Thanks pull it up construction is starting.
-
Commuter rail is very expensive he said between 2 to 4 billon dollars. But we have start doing something now or Houston's economy will falter. Can you imagine traveling on the freeways with another 5 million residents here! I'm watching the news right now and the major freeways takes 45 minutes to over an hour to get into downtown Houston.
