  1. much obliged as per the wonderful illustrations h-townchris. however, i'm afraid that i shall soon experience a pinched nerve in my neck....
  2. wow! simply beautiful illustrations nate99. i cannot wait until this edifice is hereby completed... so that i can monitor the overall impact of this particular downtown vicinity. should be a vibrant area...
  3. ok swtsig, my great and wise pal.. you have just added a whole new dimension as per our ongoing debate regarding houston's first w hotel. no one, myself included.. is hereby indicating that this prospective hotel edifice shall offer a "discernable negative impact on potential business" at any rate. all we are hereby trying to debate... is the very fact that an obviously small minority of us, would like to see our fair city's very first w hotel, be constructed upon an area that is viable, energized, hip, pedestrian friendly, and certainly fun. it is becoming quite evident that every hip city.. has a w hotel that is located upon the aforementioned vicinities. we want so very hard to officially ERASE this great city's oft reputation of being a blue collar gentlemen's bar paradise. the granduca, houstonian hotel, omni post oak, are certainly providing a certain niche within our city. these particular and yet famous edifices, are positioned into obscure areas by design. these hotels, are indeed significant moneymakers as per their investors.. however, there are many patrons, that don't even know that these particular hotel's even exist. yes, of course there are freeway's located throughout the downtown vicinity. however, should this hotel actually be constructed within the downtown cbd district... then it shall become a bona fide showcase.. just as it should be. instead of being located directly along the 610 freeway corridor... basically, away from everything that is considered now and hip. houston, has indeed waited long enough. our fair city deserves better.
  4. ....all that, and STILL no official renderings. what is this... a new phantom menace!
  5. gorgeous illustrations, as per the w hotel dallas. this beautiful edifice doesn't appear to be in the direct vicinity of any freeway from what i can tell. it appears to be located downtown dallas inside their new "victory park" district. this hotel is located exactly where is should be... directly inside an area / district that is indeed vibrant and fun. this particular hotel should never ever be hidden. heck, even austin, tx. did the correct thing in constructing their w hotel upon their downtown district. let us provide hope, that houston does not make the grand mistake with this forthcoming high profile development. what a shame it would be for our fair city....
  6. much obliged, as per your update ttuchris. however, i'm a bit surprised that you were hereby able to wonder around a section of the hotel that is still undergoing construction. isn't there a bit of a liability involved here? as there are no signage above the front entrance porte cochere, as well as no official hotel flags... i would assume that this hotel is not yet officially open for business. it seems, that this is only a "soft opening" thus far...
  7. cloud713, my great pal.... you know that i love you. but what! look.. i am not going to laugh ok. i swear i'm not... i am going to do everything possible to keep from laughing... so please explain those aforementioned architectural gems.... i mean... buddy please please explain....
  8. wow! the financial aspect as per this particular development has to be incredible. much obliged, as per the update rechlin.
  9. my gosh! i do indeed pray that this particular hotel is not deeply hidden within that vicinity. this hotel, shall need to standout... big time! why on earth shall we construct a w hotel, and not gain as per the overall excitement that this particular brand usually delivers from the standpoint of overall aesthetics. this is why i was hoping that this brand would be developed downtown houston vs the galleria vs the river oaks district vicinity.
  10. here you go alec! not only are they the sunglasses that you so eloquently requested.. but they are also by gucci. style, does indeed matter...
  11. htownchris, no matter the shape, form, or fashion of your illustrations. we are hereby happy to have them. anytime... any day!
  12. ok, well.. let us not forget the perverts that love to gaze into those beautiful bathroom windows. it actually works both ways. but the tie goes to the residence.. simply due to the fact that he / she paid for the experience...
  13. this is all that i can think of whenever i view anything regarding this wondrous edifice... glass, class, and the bottom line...
  14. good lord howard...geeeeezzz! i am running completely out of accolades....
  15. purpledevil, please forgive me if i am wrong... but it seems that you may harbor some form of an affiliation as per the JW MARRIOTT DOWNTOWN HOUSTON. if this is indeed so.. then please accept my congratulations to you and the entire staff as per this most gorgeous hotel. also, if i may add... i simply love the dark brown columns that are featured throughout this beautiful edifice. upon my view, they tend to add a very unique and historical character to the building itself. a monumental fusion of modern day... vs history. simply beautiful.
  16. well, this is indeed a bit difficult to so casually explain my pal purdueenginerd. i mean.. oh my, this is so very difficult... you see, we all love randall davis and his continuous thirst for adventure. however, there are times when he announces a brand new edifice to be placed upon our fair city... the architecture seems to be a bit over the top. or there is always something that seems amiss... whereby in scope and overall scale of the structure itself. there may be loads of statues / gargoyles / king tut's / phoenix's ect.. i guess that what i'm trying so hard to articulate is that... whatever theme his current edifice is trying to convey... you just may acquire a theme overload to the extent that the completed rendering is somewhat difficult to imagine in the city of houston... or actually, anywhere upon this earth. but hey, we do so love randy and his continuous thirst for adventure. we are just continuously trying as per all of our might... to love his structures. (did i do a decent job of explaining this?)
  17. you may want to reference the renderings of the conceptual porte cochere. also, place yourself in the mindset of a hotel patron that has never been to houston. you just so happen to ride up along side this most fabulous hotel (or whatever it may be)... OH MY, WHAT IS THE NAME OF THIS PLACE? we most certainly want to avoid this form of negligence. the hotel moniker JW MARRIOTT shall indeed need to be placed upon the top of the porte cochere as per the rendering. if not, then CONDE NASTE shall overlook this edifice. HOUSTON, WE HAVE A PROBLEM!
  18. point well taken. thanks for sharing the insight. wait until they get a whiff of the new JW MARRIOTT downtown houston... this hotel is splendid.
