  1. I like it! That's actually a nice mix!
  2. You also get such a different perspective of Houston in general. You realize just how walkable Houston is. While not perfect, Houston def lends itself to pedestrians in some nice pockets.
  3. I def have to disagree. The food was average at best. And for a sports bar, Griffs (Grifs?) is the place to be in Montrose. Everytime I went to watch a Houston sports team that place seemed out of touch with what people wanted to see. One example is how all the TV's were on the Longhorn Network when a Texans game was on. That type of stuff. And you can't come close to comparing a solid sports bar like Christian's Tailgate to that place.
  4. I actually like how this place has the ability to help begin connecting DT and the East End. Once the freeway cap happens I doubt this location will seem "nonvisible." The fact it feels like a destination place is a good thing. And if this is a live venue for music then the location makes sense.
  5. That place sucked anyways. The food was terrible and beer selection was even worse. What I hated most about the place was it had such a strong Austin vibe yet it tried so hard to cater to Houston and it just didn't feel like a Houston spot.
  6. I've been saying the next 5 years will change this city. Can't wait to see what Houston is like by then.
  7. I doubt that will happen with the chaos surrounding White Oak Music Hall.
  8. I just don't see it staying that way forever. As it settles in I'm pretty sure there will be additional space made for retail. Especially if they want to compare it to anything in NY.
  9. I'd tell them I'm sorry you have to deal with terrible weather year round or ask them if they know what the sun looks like. The perception of Houston is so terrible outside of living here. When I take joy rides thru town I always wonder what's so bad about us. Houston is actually a pretty nice city.
  10. It amazes me how we're still in the running yet no publication has us listed other than dallass and Austin.
  11. We have to assume some level of retail (dry goods) will pop up here right? It just seems like a perfect location for clothing as well.
  12. Great a dallas establishment trying to show us how to do crawfish smh
  13. Damn this is going to really help revitalize that end of the neighborhood. Finally!
  14. I know we all wanted more but a solid mixed use development like the MIX will tie some things together for the neighborhood. Hoping this starts ASAP.
  15. So I guess Campo decided to wait on his project AGAIN!!!
  16. In 5 years Houston is going to look so different with all the great development happening in every neighborhood. This is awesome!!!
  17. Exactly! Think about how that would help both cities as tourist destinations with that option to travel between the two?
  18. Because a ton of people are moving here with little space to store anything.
  19. This used to live in this little area of town. All I remember is the lack of sidewalks. lol
