It has almost been 7 years, I was wondering did the predictions come true ? Is the medical center one of the top 10 business districts? Did the recession stall the medical centers development ? What do you all think about the future of the medical center, will there be another boom in development ?

don't doubt that's what he said but i question the accuracy of his statement... 25+ stories is a very large project to fly under the radar.
i've heard very substantiated rumors of some very large deals further west though...
Care to share those rumors ?

If they used the materials depicted in that rendering on the actually building it would have turned out a lot better. If you look at the rendering the building that was built has a different design and the materials that where used are different. It should have been built to look like the rendering, thats just my opinion though.
Hopefully the other phases actually come to fruition and make this building more appealing, like intecity77 mentioned Houston developments have a pattern of changing and canceling initial plans.

These holes can't be for the teirs to Astoria. I see no foundation at all.
The holes are for the new McDonald's.

Did BBVA lease all of the office space ?
I hope they begin the other phases soon.

Well Post Oak is sure getting some ugly buildings. Between this building and the cosmopolitan building I'm not sure which one is uglier.
-
Could that be that ground samples that they usually do prior to construction ?
-
Did anyone every find a rendering for this project ?

Swamplot says the plans were taken down because they are not actual plans for the site. They were just hypothetical plans created in 2011.

The design is just so bland and underwhelming.

Ohhhhh ok well that explains a lot, thanks. I guess because Devon built their headquarter tower there they think every company wants to relocate there. It seemed like a few of the posters had a vendetta against Houston.

I was on the OKCTalk forum and there are a couple of post claiming that Shell could be moving their NA headquarters from Houston to Oklahoma City. Is this really a possibility or is it just rumors and wishful thinking on their part ?
They pointed out that Shell sold their headquarter building last year as if that was proof but Shell never owned the building they are just tenants and in fact I believe they renewed their lease for another 15 years not to long ago.

I thought the building is going to be 28 stories. Also, I thought the building was 40% sold.

Seriously? I guess you are more interested in being a smart-ass than actually getting an answer to your question...
Humble exits on the Eastex Freeway include:
Townsen Blvd.
FM 1960
Will Clayton Parkway
Rankin Road
I think they are referring to Will Clayton

I always found it interesting that the shopping center property (directly across Post Oak from the BLVD Place development) was for sale and purchased around the same time as the BLVD Place property. However, instead of redeveloping the property they simply chose to remodel the shopping center. Unfortunately I think that means that suburban shopping center will still be around for a whle.
If that shopping center, the large shopping center at the corner of Westheimer & Post Oak with Gallery furniture as a tenant, and the one across Post Oak from it with the Old Navy as a tenant were all redeveloped into high density mixed use developments it would have a huge impact on the Uptown area.
-
Any bets on what gets bought first, strip center on San Felipe or westheimer?
Which shopping centers are for sale ?
-
Nice looking building. I wish the M59 building that was planned on Montrose would have got off the ground.

If they do they should add a couple towers like BLVD Place!
If you go to their website it shows 4 high rises and that's not counting The Sovereign.
2 along Allen Pkwy
1 along W. Dallas
1 along W Clay

In this HBJ article it seems like there will be a Alamo location still in Midtown just not at the first announced location on Louisiana.

Yes Fortune. In what used to be the old Saturn lot.
Thanks. . . So has it actually broke ground ?

looks like Energy Tower IV is moving forward, directly adjacent to ET III.
I'm sorry I'm confused, so where exactly is Energy Tower IV going ? To the west of Energy Tower III which is under instruction ?
