  1. I was in this hotel around 2015/2016 and they did their best to update the hotel, however the ceiling heights seemed extremely low. I'm really surprised they are remodeling this building instead of tearing it down and starting over. It's on a large piece of property and it's an oddly shaped building.  I would think it would make more sense to start over from scratch and build a larger building with higher floor to ceiling heights.

I apologize if anyone has mentioned this and I just missed it, but are they going with this 3-4 story design and site layout (i.e., no parking garage) so it doesn’t block that much of the view from the various buildings in Phase 1 at East River?

This is a different developer from the developer of East River. I'm sure they could care less about East River's views. Its cost related.

I mean the Lululemon flagship store is def an indicator of things to come. I've said this in previous comments but don't be surprised to see a redevelopment of the entire site very soon, similar to what River Oaks District is doing.

Similar to what River Oaks District is doing? All River Oaks District is doing is adding a pocket park, updating the sidewalks, and landscaping.

I tend to agree.  I think an RH similar to the one they built in Dallas would do really well in Highland Village.  Along with the Lululemon destination store, it can really elevate Highland Village... especially with Kimco's vision to build multiple high rises there (assuming that is still the plan post-Weingarten acquisition).

Autry Park needs to land another Equinox or even better Equinox hotel flag since it appears the River Oaks District plans for one are dead.  Aside from a few on West Gray, there is not a high-end fitness club to service the growing population in this general area.  The access to the park and lifestyle this development is hoping to imbue, makes Autry Park an EXCELLENT location for another Equinox-branded project, in my opinion.

Highland Village and River Oaks Shopping Center are two different developments. Kimco owns River Oaks Shopping Center and that is where the multiple high rises were planned.

  5. In regards to the Allen Parkway Village, they should preserve the original buildings around Bluebonnet Place Circle, Valentine Way, & Blue Place Circle. The land containing the remaining buildings which have no historical value should be sold off for redevelopment. HHA should then work out a deal with the new buyer to incorporate low income/mixed income housing in the redevelopment.

This area has a ways to go but with Gatlin’s new restaurant opening up next door, the other apartment building going up next to CVS and Sears finally being sold, that section of crosstimbers between Yale and shepherd is going to be totally different.

The Pineforest business park has a lot of potential for redevelopment.

    Who purchased the Sears property?
