  1. Lights are finally installed - amazing what a difference irk makes - hundreds upon hundreds out last night - ITs got to be 90%
  2. Those cops on overtime are really making some $$$ - making sure no one uses the sidewalk.
  3. Agreed - cautiously optimistic - being the infill!!!!!!!!!
  4. Interesting indeed - so that grey house was moved to it's current location? That house - the old Lul-Lac building are all primed for something better. I think the grey one is for sale??.
  5. Sears won't be there in 2 years - mark my words. The Spur from that location moves it's 59 that's the parking lot. Not hating on this development - good for the neighborhood overall.
  6. Would like to see something similar but improved go in. Their bread was horrible - literally from Wal-Mart. Agree with the Mussles & Frites were on par.
  7. Who owns this monstrosity? Maybe he or she will get inspired by Central Bank...
  8. Great news ! I see this in addition to the new places in the area as one more piece of the big puzzle DT is happening
  9. We were just at Woodrow's talking about what that house was could be and now it's gone - any idea on what's coming Brazos next to the bank?
  10. if that's not a trolling comment I don't know what is - I'm not even going to go there but I'm sure someone will. 1st post too - real creative. Why not post in the general forum on how Dallas is just overall better than HOU
  11. This is truly exciting - hope there's some truth to this - was looking at some High Rise Listing's in Museum district - can't wait and hope a to own building goes up DT soon.
  12. Post this on reddit- try to get some Internet momentum behind you also call the news - good luck this is really shitty
  13. Doesn't seem like a good fit for the neighborhood - but who am I to judge? There's a couple of empty / neglected buildings on the other side of Taft - be interesting to see what they turn into.
  14. Had a couple margarita's there last weekend - there were definitely a good amount of people there for a Sunday. Crazy.
  15. I feel your pain regarding the clientele of the neighborhood changing but agree with RedScare - you knew what Midtown was and is when you bought here and zoning would do nothing to change the fact that Midtown is a booming neighborhood that people want to be in. The crowds will change, bars will come and go and life will go on. Think of the alternative - empty blocks and low valued townhomes and real estate. Not to call anyone out; but on other threads complaining of the bars and noise next to their property, I don't hear people complaining about the town-home they bought for $275,000 now conservatively valued at $360,000 There is a red-brick townhome off bagby listed for 485K and it will probably bring something in that range - two new monstrous townhomes behind Metro Midtown just went up both option pending they were listed at 629K!!! There's always a quiet cul-de-sac in Sealy where you will inherit a whole new set of gripes i.e. Nosy mothers, kids skateboarding on your curb, HOA's, rules of what you can and can't do and general "Pleasentville flurf" I put this link here bc I too was outraged at a hit and run and a lady dying in the street and didn't like that no one was talking about it. Who knows for all we know it could have been a car coming off 59 making their way through Midtown. I love Midtown and all the change that's happening here and with all the new apartments and development I'm excited to see what it turns in to.

  17. Would be smart and genius to bring some residential aspect - even just an modest apt tower - like 10 stories into this or on one of the surrounding blocks - you listening Magic? Regards, Visionary Amateur Expert
  18. Comments on the swamplot article made me LOL From Stating the Obvious:The steaks are made from Peeples?!?!?!? April 3, 2013 at 8:27 am
  19. So this is on the Whole Foods - Apartment Side of Montrose? Does anyone know what this is going to be? More from the APTS down Dallas? There's a little run down former convenience store or there was a couple weeks ago?
  20. It's funny that Fiesta has become my go-to-store after flirting with New HEB (Alabama) - Randalls Midtown (Closest) - Whole Foods / Trader Joes Alabama - great to have all the options and I use them all but for regular groceries standard weekly stuff that Fiesta has the best prices/ surprising amount of Healthy stuff 1/3 price of Whole Foods. I agree it's an asset and I think if Sears were to become something grand - the Fiesta may naturally give itself a nice facelift. I have a friend who shops at that Sears - he told us at a party and we all laughed. Anyone been in there? Crazy place - there are a couple threads out there on the building and how they covered a pretty nice old facade with the current box shape. I will try to find and link.
