    I hope not to many of those job cuts will be in Houston. Does anyone know how many were from Houston last time? "BMC had similar layoffs in 2003, when it cut 13 percent of its overall work force

    It is a peninsula to the north east of galveston. There is a ferry that travels back and forth. Not sure if there is a bridge or not. About 30 minutes depending where you are going due to the time it takes for the ferry. A little less than 10 miles. From Downtown take I think Ave J/Broadway to Ferry road, then that takes you to the ferry.

    The best thing we can hope for is that the developer will change his mind, or once the uptown area begins to get built out, then it may be at least partially hidden.

    I hope that Metro releases the proposals to the public when they get them on Monday.

    If anyone cares, as an update they have started construction on the new building. There are no renderings as of yet.

    Well I had it working in the preview post window, but then it stopped working. I will try and get it to work. Again, cool pics. I see what your problem was, it keeps adding an extra line of URL by itself that messes it up. I hope you don't mind if I copy it and host on the place where I put my pics. If you do I'll take it off.

    That explains it. I had been wondering, you seem so much different on SSP. You were always very informative I was wondering what had happened to you. LOL Back on topic my favorites for lighting at night are 1000 Main Wells Fargo Centerpoint tower (old Reliant tower) JP Morgan Chase (20's one) Continental If only more buildings could have other things than the cheap Christmas lights around the top.

    cool, is the show going to be based in Houston all the time? Nice picture, but the last two don't work.

    Well for high schools Bellaire, Lamar, HSPVA, and DeBakey are all very good schools. I don't know about any middle or elementary schools.

    I have cable and internet with Time Warner and I have had only one major problem and that was my internet being down for a couple of days. They were also out there working on it the day I called them.

    I went in once when I was going to Fry's. I didn't really look around much. The furniture seemed okay I guess. The layout of the store was pretty much a huge warehouse with furniture sitting in it.

    I didn't know Dalmations were usually bad tempered. Most of the ones I've known were nice. Maybe it was good owners. But poodles, at least the ones that people I know have owned are vicious. Maybe not all of them, but if you try to pet them they will be okay and then two seconds later they try to rip your hand off. Sorry musicman, I didn't answer your question either.

    Regarding the mosquitoes, is it just me, or during last summer did we have very few mosquitoes. During August I was sometimes outside for at leat 5-6 hours a day doing things in the yard, fixing stuff, etc.. and recalling on that I do not remember many mosquitoes. Maybe it was just me because I remember some people complaining about them while none were biting me.

    Was it a stopped train, or just a very long, slow one?

    I have seen and read some things about how it may have dirt or leaves in it and this can mess up your engine. I have also known some people who would buy gas from cheap places. Some have had engine problems, and the person who fixed it said it was due to things in the gas and that is can be found in gas at cheap gas stations.

    This is ridiculous. The place where the bank was is still vacant. Does anyone know what is happening with it. It is just dirt surrounded by wood and chainlink fence with plastic coverings slowly tearing off of the chain link. Is it because they haven't gotten a permit or something, because couldn't they have just left it up then. There has been no activity at the site since October.

    I need to get to the Eastside more often. I have a feeling it may be a remnant from the past, but maybe not. rps324, why did you just quote him and not write anything?

    I believe with Shamrock it is nearly 100 percent the ineptitude of the developers. With regard to strip malls zoning may eliminate some, but I do not think that there would be none. But there would be less suburban CVS's and other things in Midtown and other places.

    I believe that the reason it started out so big was because they thought they could acquire the building behind, but for some reason something fell through. I want to say they own the building though. So after it couldn't be the full city block they changed it to the design we know today. If anyone can correct any of this or can add things it would be appreciated. "I only watch the news" -LTAWACS Most of the ads for Orion I have seen are during the news. Just wondering has anyone else seen the ads on non local channels, and if so what shows?
