hbcu
odd there's a Taco bell within 3 miles either way (Becker and Spring Cypress) along with a Jack-In-The-Box that just opened a few years ago on Spring Cypress..same with Whataburger Olive Garden will clean house out there....

BigFootsSocks
Damnit what a let down. When we got the Outlet Mall (which a close family member designed), I figured the town center wouldn't be the usual suburban development. But nope. We're getting a thousand dollarsing Kohls in Fairfield. Yay?
BigFootsSocks
Any update on what's going on here? There's a couple of small parcels next to the Taco Bell and Whataburger under construction but other than that it's an empty driveway with a bunch of weeds. D Miller
Chic Fil A is under construction (near completion) and the land has been cleared for the McDonald's. I think the Olive Garden and Longhorn Steakhouse construction will start in a couple months (if not sooner).
BigFootsSocks
I had a lot higher expectations for this piece of land, especially right next to the outlet mall. Oh well
D Miller
It's the same thing every other community is getting right off the highway(s). Chain restaurants, typical box stores and fast food places. Not sure what you could expect to be put in there, but it's the fairly typical "shopping center" that everyone else gets. At least once it's finished there will be an Academy and new movie theater that serves food. You're going to have to wait another 5 to 10 years for Bridgeland to start building out their "town center", which will be huge (approximately 20% of their land space), to get something a bit more upscale or unique. Towne Lake's "town center" should have some nice offerings once finished in the next couple years. I heard they are getting some higher end restaurants that the area is sorely lacking.
hbcu
you blink while driving on 290 between the Outlets and Spring Cypress you think you're in the same area...the same exact thing...the site plan had a Jack-In-The-Box also...

D Miller
Longhorn and Olive Garden pulled out.. don't ask me how I know.. Ok, I won't. That's weird though. Both are listed on the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation website. Neither was overly exciting, would just be nice to have a few more options around that area. Yeah you're right, I just expected something a little bit nicer going into Houston's "Premium" Outlets Also, I heard a rumor that Bridgeland is going to be building the next "Mall of America" except bigger. BigFootsSocks
Yeah I know that I live in Fairfield lol. Is there any word on the towne center development? Really wish this could be something like Sugarland's Town Center...
Gator80
I don't see anything happening even approaching the scale of Sugarland's Town Center. For whatever reason there just isn't any commercial activity out that way. Might change with 99 and the area around Bridgeland but I suspect even that is years away.
IronTiger
I know that Bridgeland wants to open a "town center" of sorts in the center of their development, but details are sparse and that's years away anyway.

IronTiger
I heard a rumor that Birdgelabds wants to build a mall bigger than Mall of America... I tend to file things like that with the "Disney is building a theme park in the Houston area" type rumors. More than likely, the master plan for Bridgelands' town center is a large complex with outdoor shopping, dining, Class A office space...you know, kind of like what The Woodlands has. If they do have a real mall, it won't be any larger than Willowbrook Mall or The Woodlands Mall.
BigFootsSocks
Oh yeah no doubt I expect the chances of that happening are about as high as that 102 story tower...

Many of the businesses at Fairfield Town Center lists Hwy 290 or Northwest Fwy as an address. IntheKnowHouston
According to a filing this week with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations, In-N-Out Burger is opening at Fairfield Town Center. The filing lists 28320 Northwest Freeway (28320 Highway 290) as the address. This is the site of Brewingz, a local sports bar mini-chain specializing in chicken wings, which means this location is closing. In addition to the forthcoming Cypress location, In-N-Out Burger is also opening two more Houston area restaurants. One is coming to 1717 Lake Woodlands Dr in the Woodlands. Another is opening next year in Webster's new retail development Baybrook East. https://www.tdlr.texas.gov/TABS/Search/Print/TABS2022025427 Edited October 15, 2022 by IntheKnowHouston

Nearly five months later, Houston Chronicle reports In-N-Out Burger as possibly planning a location in Cypress' Fairfield Town Center. The California burger chain will be located at 28320 Northwest Freeway (28320 Highway 290). Below are a few key details from last week's article: "In-N-Out filed a permit with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation in August 2022 at 28320 US-290 in Cypress. The filing lists the project as new construction with an estimated completion date of June 8." "Details of the project are subject to change. However, Mike Abbate, the company’s assistant vice president of real estate and development, said In-N-Out is hoping to open the restaurant soon. 'At this stage, we are in the development application process, so it’s still too early to say when, or even if, we will be able to open a restaurant there,' Abbate said." https://www.houstonchronicle.com/neighborhood/cyfair/article/In-N-Out-planning-new-Cypress-location-17697625.php Edited January 12 by IntheKnowHouston 1
IntheKnowHouston
Houston Chronicle's paywall-free website has an opening update for In-N-Out Burger. As previously posted, the California burger chain is opening an outpost at Fairfield Town Center in Cypress. The address is 28320 Northwest Freeway (28320 Hwy 290). In a statement to Chron, In-N-Out VP Mike Abbate indicated [the] restaurants would hopefully open by the end of November. https://www.chron.com/food/article/in-n-out-burger-houston-18493765.php
