Creep creepy ads, and other annoying ads

I was in the study when I heard my daughter gave a shrieking yell upon seeing the H&R Block one-eyed-people ad. I only saw the last part but can't get it off my mind since last week. Now who will dash to H&R to go do their taxes after seeing that? Who approved it?

There is another one from Sprint (I think) with texting, talking thumbs made up of people's heads. Just creepy.

Not creepy, but annoying and head scratching, the Chevy pickup truck ads with Howie Long making fun of the features on other trucks. The point is supposed to be that Chevy truck owners don't need wimpy things like heated steering wheels and access steps to the pickup bed, but all I get out of the commercial is that Chevy trucks do not have innovative features and that Howie Long is a bully.

Seriously, when it is 20 below 0 in Minneapolis, people probably think a heated steering wheel is a great idea. And those of us who are not 6'5" former NFL players kinda like steps in our pickup beds. But, thanks to Howie, I know that if I want those things, don't buy a Chevy, cuz it ain't got 'em.

Oh, and Howie...you're not fooling anyone. We know you are from Massachusetts.

I've only seen the H&R Block one-eyed people ad when I'm fast-forwarding through it, and even then it's creepy.

The people-as-thumbs ad is AT&T.

Since you remembered the brand for the cyclops ad, I'm going to say that it worked. Since you didn't remember the brand for the thumbs, I'm going to say that one didn't.

I found it creepy that a retaurant chain would use a creature that looked like a rat in its ads.

Everyone needs cheeky, immature, British humour, now and then (just not in their sub shop commercials).

EDIT: Decided not to reference related website, because current feature video doesn't just test the bounds of good taste. It defecates on them  .

I can't stand ads IN the shows! I was watching Family guy on cw39 and they have pop up ads during the show! I was watching Monster-in-law on TBS (dinner & a movie) and during the dinner part, they kept saying "brought to you by Quaker Oaks", had a little logo on the table. Thought that was the last of it, oh no... then there was another logo, and all of a sudden they go outside and its a toyota commercial! They drive around and talk about the features. Then they go to the regular commercials. I can't stand it! Then on my new favorite show Damages, they include the Escalade ads in the acutual script of the show! Wtf?

Also, watching Narnia on ABC Family, I timed the commercials in the first half of the movie, and they were longer then the scenes they showed of the movie.

I almost just want to turn off the tv for good.

Ok sorry... the most annoying ad has to be any of the match.com, eharmony, or chemistry.com commercials.

It's irritating and aggravating. Who the heck thinks of these things anyway?

Oh and about the truck thing? That's why this "howie" character is a clown and I only purchase Dodge trucks.

We are becoming more and more like those in idiocracy.

The Carmax ad, where some dork 'accidently' hits on a guy with long hair. He runs and finds safety with a friendly female salesperson, who ask him (this is regarding a car, mind you) "Is she the one?"

"Yes, she's the one."

Seems just a little defensive, if you get my drift.

The most annoying to me are the Wing Street ad's. You can get them "bone in, bone out, or traditional" I always thought traditional was bone in, but perhaps it has the bone half in and half out?????

This topic reminds me of a pizza place in LA. The sign up on top read "Had a piece lately", then under it said we have some of the best in town, etc.

Anything with Viagra as a pitch is about as crass as it gets. There are some race cars racing around with BIG viagra advertisments on the side. Limp. ;)

All-time creepiest ad I ever saw was really just a matter of bad luck and timing.

The raid on the Branch Davidian compound was covered live on TV. Who can forget seeing the building catch fire, and the growing horror of realizing that the dozens of people inside were not escaping? What a terrible, tragic story.

After showing the flames and smoke for what seemed like hours, the station finally broke for a commercial, and they couldn't have chosen a worse product. "At Kraft," a man drawls, "we slow-cook our barbeque sauce the old-fashioned way."

The juxtaposition remains unsettling.

I am trying to stay on topic but in the thought of billboard advertisments.

It is very creepy seeing a nearly naked, provocative young woman advertising a "men's club" directly in front of a church. Her back arched, etc.

and just nearby is a church that used to be a "all nude" strip club just a year earlier. Wild isn't it.

One day it's lap dancing, and next its a pew. :D

This one is over in League City on 45.

Guess this one goes under creepy/bizarre/hilarious...or a new skit for Mad TV.

Not an ad, but someone slipped up or had a bizarre sense of humor. I remember being awakened when I was about 6 or 7 (1967-68) by my parents laughing hysterically about 10:30 PM on a Friday. My sister & I looked in their bedroom and they were in tears over the announcer saying that the Late Show was "The Running Man" sponsored by Ex-Lax. :P

Realtor ad creeped me out, saw it twice recently then it was replaced by one I dont remember but it wasnt creepy<G> The creepy one had a person walking behind a replicate of himself, kicking himself in you can imagine where. The tag line was someday your going to be kicking yourself for not buying a home now.

I always thought T-Shirt slogans were Ok but were sure to go overboard. I recall seeing a girl with a shirt that read "poon-tang" on the front. Like do you really need to emblazon it?:lol:

There was one guy that used to wear a tshirt to school that read "crabs are for everyone" with tiny little insects all over...that really creeped us all out.
