Vertigo58
Does anyone keep their car running while filling up on gas? I know the pumps say not to, but my dad always does it and he hasn't blown up, yet I do pretty often without even giving it a second thought. have you ever known a mouse to sqeak as it passed by you? The other night I was watching a dvd and this insane mouse runs slowly withing view and stops and squeaks? I thought that was just in cartoons? Wonder if it was trying to communicate or say something? Not familiar with mouse speak. I didn't have time to throw anything at him or her. Mouse pellets are good they chew on and blow up. Once I saw my cat with a mouse tail hanging out of his mouth. That was quite peculiar to say the least.
ricco67
I don't leave my car running while pumping the gas, but I do use my cell phone. A few weeks ago I was witness to a women tearing into this guy because he was smoking at the gas station, she was telling him he is going to be responsible for killing hundreds when the place blows up and takes out the neighborhood. Could an exploding gas station really take out a neighborhood? I don't think so, I think it would take a refinary explosion. Although I do think the woman was right to yell at him, who smokes while pumping gas?I never leave the car running, for one thing I kinda' see it as silly to waste gas while pumping in gas. While this is a pretty poor metaphor, it's like peeing while drinking beer. I might be needing a new cat soon, mine is about ready to take a permanent nap soon if it doesn't adjust its attitude. she's 16 years old, though. I guess even old cats get cranky. houstonmacbro
If it's pretty cold or fiery hot I will leave the car running. I hate having to get the temperature back to where it was before I started pumping gas.

ricco67
You know, I'm VERY disappointed by the new thrill shows they're having at Reliant these days. I remember the thrill show of the old days and they were fun, now it looks like they're all about the monster trucks. I'm still going tomorrow (saturday), but I have a feeling I'm going to be disappointed. I want a demolition derby! And I'm NOT talking about the houston Highways. For years I had some dirt off the Grave Digger saved in a Zip Lock bag. I don't think I enjoyed the whole thing all that much; I just sort of made myself enjoy it because they were enjoying it. But I miss the old days at the dome when you had some guy jumping cars, or the Joe Chetwood team doing car tricks, AND having a Demolition derby. If i remember correctly, they had 3 matches. The Philly area appears to be with-in striking distance now, so I think Houston can pass them sometimes in 2008. Once we make it to number 5, I expect we will remain there comfortably for awhile, unless for some crazy reason DFW slows down enough for us to pass them. Vertigo58
What happened? The Awards show which normally shows the red carpet and stars getting off limos is gone due to Hollywood writers strike. The show instead was done like an Entertainment Tonight kind of intro where no one was present to accept anything. It was like throwing a huge party and no one showed up! So here are like a guy and a girl naming the nominees and then showing clips of the shows and camera comes back with and the winner is! All you saw were the winners in subtitles under the screen. I tolerated about 15 minutes of it and it was like riding an elevator all alone or seeing a movie in an empty theater. Just bizarre. No cloud cheering or camera panning around ie; The Oscar's. You can probably read more. Like this article states it was "surreal". http://showbizandstyle.inquirer.net/entert...en-Globes-night

NewMND
Yup, it sure is Girl Scout cookie time. I used to always get the Caramel DeLites (I still call them samoas) and the thin mints. Now, I get the Grasshoppers by the Keebler Elves, they're the same as thin mints, so the only girl scout cookies I get are caramel delites, I haven't found a substitute for those yet, even though it seems the Keebler Elves now have a substitute for most of the girl scout cookies. And for that Golden Globes thing, one of the hosts was Billy Bush, he's actually part of the Bush family, but instead of politics, he went into tabloid entertainment. There is another Bush, I don't remember her name, but she's a model. The Bush family is everywhere!
KimberlySayWhat
I like the Caramel Delights and those lemon cookies. Thin Mints are always good, too. Mmm! I think my niece is in Girl Scouts this year. Regarding the Golden Globes, I hate those awards shows, but I'm so ready for this strike to be resolved so "Lost" can get its full season. If you consider 16 episodes a full season; I certainly don't. An 8 episodes season followed by a nearly year-long hiatus is torture. As if this nine months hiatus isn't. If you like "The Twilight Zone", like I do, of course, you'd like "Lost". It's really like one long serialized "Twilight Zone" episode. There's much more to it than survivors of a plane crash stranded on an island. The characters have many layers that are explored via flashbacks before the crash. The island has powers, monsters and mysteries on top of mysteries. It's a detailed show that you have to pay attention to and you can't just turn on any episode and expect to know what's going on. Almost everything has significance on this show. Things you don't think are a big deal will pop up later on, maybe seasons later: conversations that take place, background props like book titles the characters are seen reading. There's a reason for it. When you have time, here's very abbreviated "Lost": Everything you need to know in 8 minutes: But they leave a lot out. Really, if you love mystery and suspense, you should rent seasons 1, 2 and 3 and then wait for season 4 when it's out. Lots of twists and shockers if you like that sort of thing. Vertigo58
Now that I think about it, this show is quite good compared to the other garbage thats out there. I thought that crash scene was done quite realistically and thats coming from a hardcore Special Effects worshipper. http://www.theasc.com/ The magazine is kind of neat, inside they have items you can rent/buy like lighting, sound etc. There is a co that rents lighting that can illuminate a whole outside of a skyscraper so you can film at night. When I film my own Towering Inferno now I know where to go. PS here is one of my all time disaster scenes ever made! I always loved upside down sets ever since.
