    I think it will depend on how much of a dent Southwest dings CONT passenger count. One thing I've been curious about is what IS the largest plane that can fly out of HOU?

    If I'm not mistaken, there is valet available for those that are impaired, our are just feeling a tad lazy.

    Well, hopefully they won't try this stunt as the construction starts, I'm sure all sorts of "no parking" signs will pop up.

    Looking at the rendering made a couple of things pop out: The hilton hotel is going to either be part of the grb, our will be demolished and replaced with the the expansion. The garage on the northern end is going to have to allow room for the light rail since out os going to cut through a corner of that block. There are going tip be massively tired people at the end of the day as people walk to the hotel on the back end of the grb unless there is a very efficient shuttle circling that massive structure.

    Thanks ed! One thing that jumped out at me is the expansion of the GRB to the south.....Does that mean they're going to shut down that street on the south side?

    Occasionally, I've driven past and seen that a couple of windows have been shot out. Kinda' makes me wonder if it still is worth it considering those things cost about 10k a pop.

    You would figure a wave of calls MIGHT get the various members of the council's attention.

    They are going to have to offer a substantial amount of cash to The Houston Club to make it worth their while. That thing is a major money maker, believe it or not.

    Neither was it when we first started speculating about this piece of land. The overhead pictures that were taken seem to show they are building something, and I get the distinct impression they're not going to build just a ton of 5 storey buildings.

    If you're talking about white collar workers, then I might say the number might be just a BIT high. However, I don't think this is a sign that sky scrapers won't be in use in the future. It could just be that if you're running a larger company, a place MUST exist for employees to gather for a variety of reasons.

    Unless they are offering free booze (for that 50 buck ticket), I'd want to know what's going on. I just hope a HAIFer is inside there.

    Just remember to take a fast lens. You might have to run after you walk in.

    Kinda' wished they went a big bigger, but this should help out quite a bit with people who work in the area that can't afford to live in any of the high rises in the area. I'm guessing this will be "affordable" living in the area. Then again, once this is built, it might force some of the other apartment buildings to be a bit more competitive. Relatively speaking of course. Galleria area prices are always going to be crazy high.

    Yes. Biba's One's a meal>one's a meal>Theo's. Baba's One's a meal>Vacant for a couple of years>Opens new place at old location. From what I was able to get from the people at One's a meal after they had moved, was that Biba's kitchen was a total disaster and he refused to do any upgrades or repairs.

    Managed to take a photo of the lot with a bit of perspective of what the intersection is like (sorta) , along with a greenway skyline. Enjoy.

    Went ahead and took pics of the site as it currently stands. It should be interesting to see how this develops.

    You should think that it would be AWESOME because you're going to be able to have a window seat of a high rise go up. Ever ponder time lapse photography?

    According to Swamplot, its scheduled for demolition. I'm so totally anxious for this to happen. Does anyone know what is going to take the place of it? Tell you what, the moment this thing closes, what metal is on that site might disappear, but not that quickly. They have an easier time bumming money off people.
