  1. I'm one of those patrons that will utilize the rail to get to and from the theater district. When we don't stay overnight to make a weekend out of it, we park a decent distance to get agreeable parking. The hobby garage, as I have learned is a bear to get out of after a performance. Besides it'll make it easier to have a good meal before and after the performance.
  2. Tell you one thing, construction could be a bit of a challenge. Two of the strees will have light rail tracks. Any theories on how they will handle it?
  3. It took me awhile, but I finally got a chance to take another photo. It didn't quite turn out like I was hoping for (still saving up for that smaller lens), but you get the general idea of how big this is going to be. If you're on a cell phone, save your data plan and bail. Look at it at home. EDIT: Can we merge a couple of the archstone threads? it took me awhile to find this one.
  4. They had high food prices I'm the land of milk and honey? Who would have thunk it?
  5. It's a fair guess they won't allow anyone within a block facing the demo to be able to look outside the glass windows facing it.
  6. I don't see that happening. That's still too close. Views for this are going to suck.

    METRORail Green Line

Went to see wicked last night and I saw that the valets have a private driveway so they don't have to go out on the street to bring cars in. Thought that was pretty slick.

Well that might not be the final configuration. The weather only annoyed me to the extent of it interfering with the focusing. When the same thing happened to my camera, it was really apparent. Not so much on my corder.

    METRORail Green Line

Here is the latest. The issues with driveways leading to/from the light rail are more obvious, I think, now that the construction is well under way. http://youtu.be/crzU5qj0GTU
  10. Mine would have been more mundane. .. like "nature call" sounds. That's what I get for speed reading through the list.
  11. I think it just comes down to management. Being at the Front porch last night, I saw how packed it was as opposed to every bar within walking distance. Some people know what works and there is always location.

Possibly, but I like to roughly keep the six month spacing in videos, though. I have to go through there today anyway and I'll take a quick peek.

I would suspect that, weather permitting, the main street intersection will be closed for construction every weekend, in part because of the station construction.

    METRORail Green Line

I suspect so. The entire line will shut down this weekend.

    METRORail Green Line

This phase of construction is making picking a weekend to film the newest progress on the line challenging. For the past several weekends, they have been shutting down the Main street intersections. Do you guys think I should just suck it up and do it on a weekday, wait for rainy weekend, or pray they will finish it at the end of July?
  16. Well, I saw some porta potties out there, so I guess its a go.
  17. I don't think Chevron Tower should factor into the how much vacant space is available downtown, because I'm sure they intend of using every single foot of that space.
  18. What is the final straw to a number of them, are those that are located south of the city would be denied a moving stipend because it isn't far enough.
  19. It just occurred to me... I wonder how many Exxon Employees are going to try to jump ship and work for Chevron? I've been talking to a huge number of Exxon employees and plenty of them are not happy about going to the campus.
  20. Just curious, how did you capture this shot? While I think you used a wide lens (18mm?) to grab it, did you turn around while biking, or was it mounted?
  21. After the kids fly the coop in a couple of years, we will be empty nesters are looking at the east side to buy and rent out until we move in, but its difficult to find a SMALL two bedroom to buy. I might have to buy a duplex to convert, or even buy an old apt. complex and be a slum lord.
  22. Then a train wouldn't suit for you. Would you carry the same items if there was a flight from Katy to Galveston? Just as some people can deal with a small car, and others that NEED a suburban, some methods of transport aren't for them. I do have to agree that Galveston needs to get their trolley's back up and running and maybe expand it a tad. It would be ideal for people that want to board the cruise lines, go for a day trip, stay for the weekend, or like me, wanting to take the family to The Pleasure Pier without having to deal with the traffic going too and from the Island.
  23. What quite a few people don't realize, is that it before Road Runner, it was a Ramada. During my hazy younger years, my friends and I partied at the bar there (it was one big complex with the main/taller building next door.) and it was called the "Rama Room." Don't recall much after that. Only that I was thankful I had a DD and woke up in strange places.
  24. I think one of the next things to be done is to lower the speed limit in certain areas at night. 30mph during the day is pushing it in Midtown by Bagby, but at night, 10mph is pushing it for safety. A couple of cops walking the beat the old fashion way would be awesome as well.
  25. they were just talking about this site on the 5pm news on ch. 13. The renderings look good.
