brijonmang
Now that it's starting to get warmer again, the conditions and lighting really get better for great sunsets. Something about summertime that just makes the sky light up in great pinks and great clouds to show off the colors.
57Tbird
The topic is correct! I have been to quite a few places in this world, and the best ones I have seen have been from my backyard. See sample below that I took a couple of weeks ago on Feb 21. I have dozens of these. They are like snowflakes.... no two are alike. I have to disagree, though, that the better ones come with warmer weather. From what I've seen here for the past 28 years, the best ones are late Fall through early Spring. Is there a meteorologist on the forum that could explain why that might be?
houstonmacbro
Wow ... those ARE beautiful!I think we have some of the best sunsets because we have so much sky.

Vertigo58
Texas certainly does have some of the most beautiful sunset displays. Even though I was stuck in slow traffic just the other week on the freeway (here in Houston), I couldn't help but notice the colors the sun was reflecting on the towers and condos along 59. It was like someone placed a big spotlight in the West. The buildings colors seem to radiate from the sunshine and appear almost dream-like. Reminded me of the Don Henley video "Sunset Grill". brijonmang
Snow. Wow, does it do that often there in the winters?Sort of...I think I recently saw that Lubbock and much of the Panhandle average around 10" of snow per year. And Mark, those pictures are awesome by the way.
