I-45 At Wayside Car Lot Demolition

I can't remember if it was Fiesta Auto Sales or Champions Used Cars but, whichever it was, it's gone. The Mexican and American flags are still flying, as if in defiance, along the feeder. While it's a good sign to see that car lot go, I'm not going to get excited about it since we're likely to get just another BIG BOX of some kind, a la Mattress Giant up the freeway.

This is the entrance into Idylwood and the "nice section" of the East End so part of me is hoping for something decent. The Oshman's sits vacant and waiting, the old Days Inn drug motel is gone......regardless of what goes in, that section is changing.

kind of surprised me. i know when they knocked down the old united store last week i was hopeful. now that his has been demolished as well, i'm thinking strip center now.
