I have partied WITH the following people:

Warren Moon- Oilers

Sleepy Floyd- Rockets

Bernie Kosar- Browns

Jim Kelly- Bills

Boomer Esiason- Bengals

Mario Van Peebles- actor

Dexter Manly- Redskins Oilers

Glenn Montgomery- Oilers

Vernon Maxwell- Rockets

Lamar Lathon- Oilers

Brett Favre- Packers

All 3 members of ZZ Top at different times

Chris Cagle- country music star

Charles Barkley- Rockets, 76ers, Suns

Emmitt Smith- Cowboys

Robert Horry- Rockets

Scarface- Rap Artist

Dennis Rodman- Bulls, Spurs

Madonna- when she was with Rodman, just met her for a second, no actual partying.

Sam Adams- Jets

Craig Biggio- Astros, no we weren't doing CRACK together either !

Bagwell- Astros

There's more just can't remember right now, too many John Daniels ago. Now there are people who i have just "met" before like:

I met Farrah Fawcet when I was about 11.

I have met both Presidents Bush.

I sold Tom Kite- Golf Pro a car back in 1999 up in Austin.

I worked for Mama Ninfa back in the mid 90's.

Nolan Ryan

I've played Poker a coupe of times with Bobby Sura- Rockets

I met Kobe Bryant at Planet Hollywood, no promotion gig, he was just there.

I met Chris Farley there also.

Hakeem Olajuwon

Kenny Smith- Rockets

There are a few others. I am not an autograph hound, and I didn't bother these people, we all just went with the flow. Celebrity doesn't get me all hot and bothered. All the people mentioned were very nice and very cool, except a couple that will remain in the vault. I was just in the right place at the right time, and knew a few of the right people, when I got to meet this largely "D-List" of celebs, but they were pretty famous at the time when I met them.

How did you manage that? I'm so jealous. He is my all time favorite football player. First I'm from Cleveland and he played for Cleveland and actually WANTED to play there. And he gave me and all other tall, lanky, clumsy, lefthanders that couldn't throw a tight spiral if our lives depended on it hope that we too could play football. :D It always amazed me how his wounded duck throws ever found their target but they usually did.

I used to work at a little place called Fat Tuesday's down on Richmond. I knew all the other managers and bartenders of the other "HOT" clubs back in the mid 90's. I happen to be off on a Sunday night and went over to CRUSH BAR, over on Bering to get a few "bartender spills". Bernie Kosar, Boomer, Jim Kelly, Warren, and a couple of other big time QBs were in the club, My father happened to know Jim Kelly from his old "Gamblers" days, and I had met him way back when. Jim actually recognized me and asked if I was indeed my father's son, he was so drunk, he said he thought I was actually my father, but he knew that couldn't be and we started hanging out and shootin the ____. So, I asked them all to come to my Bar,and after a few drinks we then headed over to the Yucatan Liquor Stand, and wound up partying until about 3 or 4am at Yucatan, with the doors locked. Oh, and the reason they were all together was for the Warren Moon foundation benefit that year, this was in about 1993.

I bartended at Dan Patrick's sports bar back in the mid 80s, when I was in law school. Patrick knew dozens of sports celebs from his sportscasting days. I got to meet dozens of current and former players, including Olajuwan, Drexler, Cadillac Anderson, Earl Campbell, Roger Clemens, AJ Foyt, and others.

Some of my favorites.

Jim Kelly - I was in a limo that picked him up for a grand opening on FM 1960. He insisted we do Jack Daniels shots all the way there from Sugar Land. After the grand opening, he made us go with him and the limo partying all over town. That night hurt.

Harry Carrey - Nicest guy I ever met, next to Earl Campbell. He was NOT a Bud Man. He was an Absolute man.

Sam Perkins - I actually met Sam through a girl I went to law school with. If anyone remembers the story about Sam moving in with a white family in Albany, NY due to family problems...this girl is from that family. Whenever the Mavs came to Houston, we would go to the hotel and take him out. Everyone would always ask him who I was. He would tell them I was his agent. What a cool guy.

Oliver Luck - Went to law school with Oliver. Class act all the way. Very down to earth.

Couple of non-athletes...Mayor lanier and Drayton McLane. Went to a party at Lanier's swankienda to celebrate the Minute Maid Park bond election. Nice views from the Huntingdon.

Oh yeah, I forgot...former Rocket Charles "The Legend" Jones!

He used to drink the $0.75 draft beers at the Walkabout Cafe.

And Bo Outlaw...former Cougar basketball player, longtime NBA player. I played volleyball with him at UH on a number of occasions. What an incredibly nice guy...one of the nicest, and funniest, people you could meet.

Buddy Swayze [knew more than met]

Tommy Tune

JFK: I was with my scout troup on Texas Ave. on November 21 and Max Peck, the manager of the Rice and a friend of my mom's picked me up and stood me on the back of a police cycle so I could see [i was a little squirt.] I think JFK smiled at me and I think I saw Jackie but I definatly remember LBJ smacking me and my friend on the head and giving us a big dopey grin.

The next day JFK was dead and I saw my dad cry for the first time. I'll never forget that. It was like yesterday.

[didn't intend to get so morose-sorry]

DjV made me remember that I met SHAQ and Abdul Rahim whatever (AKA) Chris Jackson, when I was in college, this was before they were stars.

I have also met tons of wrestlers when I was younger, outside the ring, I met the Steiner Bros. at Bennigans @ 45 and 610 interchange, back in 1990. Rick seemed tiny, but his brother Scott, seemed to fill up the room. For those that have followed wrestling when they were younger, a relatively "unknown" was with them that night, he eventually came to be known as "EARTHQUAKE"!

do a couple of gay porn stars and a Russian olympic hockey player count as famous?

As far as politics, I've met George Bush (41), and our good friends and neighbors were the Emmetts. My dad did all of his campaign stuff as well as Jack Fields and Jerry Eversole during the '80s. Jack and his family were very good to my father!

i had the opportunity to meet dominique de menil, but i scurried off to the surrealist exhibit at the menil because i was not sure why this petite woman standing in the foyer was approaching me. i thought she was some sort of greeter. guess i shouldn't have taken that.......oh well, that's another story. i realized later who she was.

i had dinner next to dominique sascha? (the news anchor) at cafe red onion.

i danced with andy bell at numbers before erasure was big.

i visited with wilson leary (timothy leary's nephew) at a party in montrose. he was/is an artist in austin these days.

working with cirque du soleil in 2003 provided zero opportunities to hang with the artists. the roadies and pr people; however, are a hoot.

i saw rick perry at a republican state convention and quietly moved away. he smells like aqua net hairspray and suits that need to be drycleaned. he's seems like a manufactured product, scary.

i visited with a niece of bob lanier in the women's restroom at therapy.

i stood in line at what was then eckerd's drugstore with george mitchell in the woodlands. it didn't hit me who he was until i got home, then i kicked myself for not recognizing one of my heroes.

also, i woke up one morning in the late eighties with...............oops, can't tell that story. ;)

This will kill ya, I actually sat next to Marvin Zindler at Pino's on Hilcroft. He was by himself, the owner would come sit with him back and forth from the kitchen, I had a little chat with him. Nice old fart, I think he's a loon though.

Mr. Potato Bug -

That's because while you were chatting and thinking he was a loon (that's a favorite ruse of his) he was all the while secretly checking to see if your french fry brain was being stored at the proper temperature. If you haven't seen yourself on TV since the incident, you must have passed.

Now scram!....No wait...One piece of advice...next time you french fry your brain, take it out of your head first and place it in a suitable container...That looks like a really bad burn on your face. And after all, even the Colonel didn't crawl in with the fried chicken, now did he ....HEH HEH HEH

Now scram!
