The free-standing restaurant space at 4747 San Felipe St is situated on the 6.1 acre site that includes the 1900 West Loop South office tower. Possibly taking inspiration from the space itself, the latest concept is named Post Oak Lodge. There is a bare bones website and Instagram for the business. strickn
1900 West Loop South was the headquarters of 3D/International (formerly known as Diversified Design Disciplines; fka Neuhaus & Taylor) from its construction until they were bought by one of Southern California's defense and AEC (architecture-engineering-construction) giants, Parsons Corporation, in 2006. https://offcite.rice.edu/2010/03/LightTouch_Koush_Cite64.pdf https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southfield_Town_Center https://sah-archipedia.org/buildings/MI-01-OK12 https://magazine.texasarchitects.org/2016/05/25/formal-again/

The author paraphrased everything I posted here and published it. She did the same when publishing an article about 80 Sports Bar on Washington Ave. I sent news of this to Houstonia and all the other local media outlets covering the city's dining scene (with the exception of CultureMap). Additionally, I asked for them to look into this further. Many of their readers wanted to know what will become of the space. And yet CultureMap was the only one to report about this in further detail. It's baffling why those paid to keep us informed of what's going on around town - in particular with dining and real estate - don't do their due diligence. Instead they'll paraphrase select emailed tips or posts in forums like this one. Worse, they'll wait for a press release and copy it verbatim.
