Her statement:

I received an email last night from the area manager for Cruise - She informed me that they had to suddenly removed the fencing, generators and most vehicles from the lot on W Alabama because the asphalt has to be resealed with some urgency. The company is NOT leaving the area, rather the cars were temporarily moved to another location until repairs to the asphalt lot can be completed"

They really need to get some quality electric service so that they can charge their cars directly. They've been hogging the Electrify America charger at Yale at Walmart. It has been closed for a few weeks and when I stopped at the EA station in Baytown, they were having to drive all of the way out there to charge. What a mess.

"Cruise said in social media posts on Oct. 12 that the service is ready to accept riders in a service area between the downtown, River Oaks, East Downtown and Montrose neighborhoods. The company announced a $5 flat fare promotion for Houstonians for a limited time. The so-called ‘robotaxis’ will operate from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m."

"Days after their release onto the streets of Houston, Cruise’s driverless cars are being investigated for potential safety defects by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, a branch of the U.S. Department of Transportation, for a second time.

The investigation led by the administration asserts the Office of Defects Investigation received reports of incidents involving the autonomous vehicles that “may not have exercised appropriate caution around pedestrians in the roadway.” Nearly 600 of the driverless vehicles are subjects in the preliminary investigation that could result in a recall by the administration.

The company this year tested its vehicles in several Houston neighborhoods and fully launched the driverless ride-hailing service last Thursday despite some backlash from Houston residents about a traffic jam caused by some of those vehicles on a busy Montrose roadway weeks ago."

It’s been a bad few months for GM’s driverless car startup Cruise, including an incident where one of its robotaxis dragged an injured woman underneath itself for 20 feet and the subsequent suspension of its service by the State of California. And now its founder and CEO, Kyle Vogt, has resigned. What’s going on here?

It’s Thanksgiving Week here in America and we’ll be celebrating the way we always celebrate: Eating too much and working too much. Speaking of working too much, Tesla’s lawyers get a lot of work but they seem to earn their money, as they did in a recent lawsuit over repairs.

This year I’m grateful for data, and there’s some new CPO data that’s a little surprising. Plus, the Vegas F1 race seemed to go pretty well.
