ggmsmolly Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 Who remembers the old Oggero's Restaurant in Houston on Bellfort Blvd. at Mykawa. We loved to go there for pizza in the 60s. The blue station wagon to the left was my parents. Bat & Steve Oggero's Restaurant at 6150 Bellfort Ave. Quote

I worked as a busboy there in the 60’s and have incredible memories of having my picture taken with Mitzi Gaynor and Dale Robertson (famous actors from that period), plus I met John Mecom Jr. when I worked there, as well as Billy Cannon (his Heisman was on display for some time), plus George Blanda, Bob Talamini, Charlie Tolar and many of the other AFC champion Houston Oilers(Bat and Steve Oggero knew “everybody”, and some say knew “too many!”. Thanks for sharing those pics! I loved their shrimp pizza as a kid! Quote
DannyS Posted June 19, 2022 Posted June 19, 2022 I grew up down Telephone Road in Gulf Meadows from ‘63 to 71. We loved Oggero’s. It was always a special treat for our birthday. Little known secret they had the best fried shrimp in Houston! What a great memory… Quote
mkultra25 Posted June 20, 2022 Posted June 20, 2022 Larger version of the photo previously posted: Steve Oggero passed away in 1969 at the young age of 34. Bat lived to be 93, and passed away in 2020. Curiously, the restaurant isn't mentioned in his obituary: Obituary for John Batiest Oggero Quote
Lisa Oggero Posted July 16, 2022 Posted July 16, 2022 Steve is my dad! I heard from so many people that they would call the restaurant to ask if my dad would be there that evening because they only wanted to come if he was there ! ❤️ I am actually looking for the large Oggero’s sign. If anyone knows it’s whereabouts please message me on Facebook! Lisa Oggero ( dark hair brown eyes) 1 Quote
