citykid09
Again, how do you know this? Also I have heard a rumur that CNN would be buying or building a TV studio in Houston so that they can have news rooms in each Time Zone. Have you heard anything about this? editor
Probably not in Houston. They'll probably put it in Dallas like CBS and ABC did.

kjb434
Back to Katrina. The superdome does have a hole in the roof. The structural integrity of the building hasn't been comprimised, but the repairs will be necessary. The French Quarter has sustained minimal damage. Most damage seen is skyscraper windows being blown out. Most severe flooding happened along Lake Ponchartrain and in St. Bernard Parish. Grand Isle, LA and Mississippi Gulf Coast has experienced the worst storm surge.

jm1fd
So anybody know construction details on the dome roof? Looks like some sort of covering over a concrete "decking".
kjb434
The roof is a massive steel superstructure with a paneling structure on the underside. From another New Orleans thread, I read that the top was spray on plastic roof that is ver energy efficient and durable. It lasted since the building was completed in the 70s to now. There was link in that other thread too to the company or the supplier of the roof. The overall damage to the dome wasn't that bad. The structure is 30 year old now and held up well.

YakuzaIce
http://www.cnn.com/2005/WEATHER/08/30/katr...eans/index.htmlLook at tension rising. I don't know if it was an accident or intentional, but it sounds intentional. I don't know what drove him to do it as most are in the same boat as him. But this is a sad time for the area of the gulf coast that got hit.
