Gateway Park: Mixed-Use Development At 17750 Katy Fwy.

Recommended Posts

I remember my friend from Las Cruces told me a story once about driving I-10 through Houston. He was awake around Katy and asked where they were and the driver said, "We are in Houston." He fell asleep and woke up an hour later and asked where they were "Still in Houston." He remarked "Wow, that town is miles long."

I used to try and count how many malls Houston had off just one freeway - I-45 freeway from Galveston to the Woodlands to explain to New Mexicans how big it was.

New Jersey in Square Miles: 8,729 mi²

Houston Metro Area in Square Miles: 8,778 mi²

What exactly do they mean by "will be easily accessed by direct on/off ramps in both directions on I-10"? Is this developer going to finance a new roadway project?  Or is this merely an over-exaggerated statement that the development is on the feeder road of I-10?

For what it is, it's not too bad. However, those who have opened the brochure can see that the green space will be cut at least in half since it's where they plan on building a hotel and conference center. I actually think it's better than that old Exxon site plan.
