The 48-year-old Bayou Manor assisted-living facility is building a new 14-story tower to offer more long-term health care services to its residents.

The $67 million tower, to be built at 4141 S. Braeswood Blvd., near the Texas Medical Center will include 84 apartments, under-building parking with elevator access to residences and 32 assisted-living and memory-support residences.

In addition, the tower will feature a pool and fitness amenities, dining venues and a 180-seat event center.

Interesting - another senior complex is going up at 4141 N. Braeswood:

Good eye. Hopefully the one across the street will be as nice as this one. They did a good job designing it I think:

There was a retirement tower planned in this area a few years back. It had a video too but different from this one. Is this the same location?

Found it. It is the same one http://www.houstonarchitecture.com/haif/topic/25205-assisted-living-tower-planned-for-med-center-area/?fromsearch=1

Construction is well underway by now. A crane was constructed this morning and there were at least 8 cement trucks on the site about a week ago.

Also, I think we should move this thread to Going Up especially that it's not actualy in (or near) the Med Center.
