hindesky
The Minds Behind One of Montrose’s Favorite Barbecue Joints Have a Steakhouse in the Works Expect live-fired hunks of meat at the forthcoming Andiron by Amy McCarthy Jul 29, 2021, 9:57am CDT Sambrooks Management Company, the Houston restaurant group behind popular spots like Candente and the Pit Room, will soon debut a brand new steakhouse on Allen Parkway. The restaurant, called Andiron, will bring wood-fired steaks to the 4,500 square foot space at 3201 Allen Parkway, Suite E110. Per a press release, the restaurant will offer seating for 100 diners indoors, plus plenty of seating and an outdoor bar on its 2,800 square foot patio. This makes for the fourth restaurant in the Sambrooks profile, joining Tex-Mex spot Candente, Heights seafood destination 1751 Sea and Bar, and beloved Montrose barbecue joint the Pit Room. Details on the menu are scarce beyond the general concept of cooking meats over live fire, but owner Michael Sambrooks said in a statement that the restaurant would combine “our skills in smoking and wood-fire grilling from the Pit Room and Candente with the chef-driven experience from 1751 Sea and Bar.” The restaurant will also boast a private dining space. https://houston.eater.com/2021/7/29/22599924/andiron-houston-restaurant-opening-2022-sambrooks-management-pit-room-candente

The latest dining concept from Samsbrook Management will open in Radom Capitol's 3201 Allen Parkway. According to Resy, reservations for the steakhouse are available beginning December 5. That seems to be a good indication the restaurant is opening to the public on that date. https://resy.com/cities/hou/andiron https://andironhtx.com/ https://www.facebook.com/Andironhtx https://www.instagram.com/andironhtx/

hindesky
"Louis Maldonado, the executive chef behind the much hyped steakhouse Andiron, is no longer part of the restaurant after opening it less than three months ago. The acclaimed chef confirmed he left the restaurant, located at 3201 Allen Parkway, in early July. Maldonado, 42, is leaving the kitchen after a nearly two-decade cooking career, he said, to join an Austin-based hospitality group as its corporate director of food and beverage. The yet-to-be-named company currently operates craft cocktail bars Here Nor There and In Plain Sight, but it has plans to expand beyond the state capital." https://www.houstonchronicle.com/food-culture/restaurants-bars/article/andiron-steakhouse-chef-louis-maldonado-18204234.php
