    Usually Michael Graves' work is OK to excellent. This building-however colorful it may be, [and I'm all for more color in architecture] completely destroys the scale of AP. I wonder if Graves visited the site before design began? Maybe he didn't. I can't find any other reason for it to be so colossaly out of scale for it's surroundings. Anyway, to me it's just a sub-par building erected on an above par site.

    The city didn't let the Oilers go. The owner attempted to blackmail the city and county for a new stadium and we called his bluff. He stamped his feet, held his breath and waddeled off to Nashville.

    It was bizarre and facinating at the same time. Don going blind and Jeana Claire looking like she was on a Valium drip-but me and my sisters loved it. We would roll around on the floor and howl watching my crazy middle sister try to imitate the baton twirlers with a crow bar. Oh yeah, a peice of trivia: Annette O'Toole got her "Big Break" on the show! Now she plays Superboy's Ma on TV.

    I would like to see one at the Pavillions on the Main Street side.

    gto: I agree. I wonder how much outreach and support to really bright high school students-who would just die for a challanging leg-up in life-the $$ spent on sports at Rice would help. I don't mean cutting intramural sports-just the out of proportion amount of $$ spent on football, baseball and basketball. Like you said, you go there for a great education. If you want sports, go to any of our lame-ass state supported universities.
