  1. Dermond Fernandez, reporter for KTRK-TV Ch. 13 and videographer Gerzain Garcia went to the home of Larry Ricketts, 73, of Huffman to interview Ricketts on-camera about the sexual assault allegations that Ricketts was accused of sexually assaulting a 5-year-old girl. Ricketts responded by pointing a handgun at the news team, as was seen on Garcia's videotape. Mike McGuff of McGuff blog and the Harris County Sheriff's office reported this story and I want to know what is y'all reaction to this incident ? http://mikemcguff.blgospot.com/2014/02/ktrk-abc13-crew-gets-gun-pulled-on-them.html
  2. Lockmat, Bill Balleza is the only person left, whose been there for over 30 years
  3. In other news, KHOU-TV CBS 11 has kicked Brad Woodard to the curb.
  4. KPRC-TV NBC 2 Houston is turning into a revolving door & it's happening again: Weekend evening news anchor Irika Sargent will be leaving the Houston NBC station after three years & heading for WFOR-TV Miami, where she will join the CBS 4 news team in May. She will partner with Rick Folbaum to co-anchor the station's weekday early evening & 11:00 PM newscasts. Mike McGuff of McGuff Blog has reported the story. Any reaction from any of y'all of Sargent leaving KRPC and what's happening to the station ? http://mikemcguff.blogspot.com/2014/02/irika-sargent--kprc-wfor-miami.html
  5. Herc, You heard some folks are mad because Sean Pendergast hangs up on them whenever they mention Matt Schaub's name. He hung on Marshal Faulk, who mentioned that the Texans should keep Schaub.
  6. OBWon89, Reyna is HOT and sexy in my book. Anyways, what ever happened to Hasti Taghi ?
  7. Fox 26 switching folks all over the place non-stop. Fox 26 Traffic Authority Michelle Merhar has a lot of new things in her professional life. First, a new traffic system with improved on-air maps. Then, she was named the new 4am and 5am newscast anchor weekdays alongside another new addition to the morning news show, Rita Garcia. Merhar replaced Chris Stipes, who moved to the weekend newscasts. In other Fox 26 news, Tom Zizka is back on the news desk. The business reporter for the station has been recently filing in in the later weekday newscasts and filing in for Jose Grinan over the next few weeks (hmmm...I smell house cleaning here). Arnold Diaz and his investigative unit has been CUT from WNYW-TV Fox 5 New York, NY State: so goodbye to Fox 26 Investigates as folks have wondered what's happened to Fox 26 Investigative reporter Randy Wallace. Fox Television rep says Wallace is doing general assignments reporting now at Fox 26. His biography on the station's website was changed from "investigative reporter" to "reporter." Ford Atkinson hasn't been heard from in awhile now and hasn't been on the air since mid-December 2013: both of Atkinson's Twitter & Facebook accounts have stalled at the same time too. Spokesperson at the station has said that he's "on vacation." What is y'all reaction to the new changes going on at Fox 26 ?
  8. OBWon89, I've noticed the obituaries section is getting smaller as well
  9. But we do know that one ticked off listener got mad over what Davis said and called the station higher ups to complain
  10. What year was the Pennzoil building built in downtown? The small weird looking black building
  11. Wonder which sports talk show will be featured in Magnolia?
  12. Not surprised. I prefer the paper in my hand over cup of coffee and breakfast
  13. Now both Ted Johnson and Paul Gallant are both crying because their Patriots got delicate flower slapped
  14. Y'all can follow Barry Warner on twitter and Facebook
  15. HBCU, check out this video from Fox 26 on November 6, 1988: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ltPttRVoeq0 They unveiled this studio set with the downtown skyline back in 1986 (same year that KTRK 13 did with theirs).
  16. Purpledevil, I think Hercules of Einstein is bitter and angry that he hasn't gotten a beautiful girl to marry or have sex with her either.
  17. It looks like KILT-AM 610 Houston is turning into a revolving door. Houston Chronicle reported this week Fred Davis of the Fred and Ted show during weeknights, has been let go and is no longer with the station because of one bitter caller, who complained to the higher-ups of the station over something Davis allegedly said. Davis's spot has been filled temporarily by Paul Gallant, Brien Straw and others in the weeknight show until a replacement is named. What are your thoughts and reaction to Davis's abrupt dismissal from 610 ?
  18. Sports Radio 610 appears to have kicked out a military veteran due to someone, who was crybabying to the higherups for something Fred Davis said
  19. Not surprised because the other county commissioners have done something similar
  20. At some point down the road, Houston's gonna change their terms limits, keep the 3 terms and extend it to 12 years (4-year terms). I'm strongly ANTI-TERM LIMITS: don't like it.
  21. Folio Scotia, Innes also took shots at folks, who criticized him on Facebook
  22. I think it's a good idea of changing the city's term limits and they should keep the 3-term rule, but I'd prefer 12 years for three four year terms. This would allow the Mayor, Controller and City Council to have more time in getting their initiatives done and city projects to be approved
  23. The Houston Chronicle's David Barron has reported this story: Josh Innes, the polarizing but popular co-host of the afternoon drive-time show on KILT since December 2010, has left the station for a similar position in Philadelphia and will be replaced in January by longtime KGOW host Sean Pendergast. Pendergast, who has worked for KGOW (1560 AM) since the station launched in 2007, will join Rich Lord on KILT's afternoon drive show beginning on January 3rd, said KILT program director Ryan McCredden. Innes will begin work that same day at WIP-FM, one of the country's longest-running sports-talk radio stations. His final show on KILT (610 AM) was Thursday. Innes, who had been at KILT since December 2009, said he was leaving Houston because of the challenge of working in a hard-core sports market like Philadelphia and because he no longer wanted to work alongside Lord. "The main reason I decided not to stay here is that I didn't want to do that show with Rich anymore," he said. "I don't really like him. I'm not going to say that I'll miss him or that he's a friend of mine." Innes, however, had high praise for his other KILT co-workers and for McCredden and former CBS Radio Houston executives Brian Purdy and Gavin Spittle, who hired him for his first major-market radio job. http://blog.chron.com/sportsupdate/2013/12/josh-innes-leaving-kilt-for-job-in-philadelphia/ Any reactions from anyone on Innes leaving 610.
