lockmat replied to fernz's topic in Uptown and Galleria Area
I saw this building at night a few days ago and the crown is great. Simple and classy and really adds a lot to the skyline.- 594 replies

Regent Square: Mixed-Use On Allen Parkway At Dunlavy St.
lockmat replied to Travel_n_Transport's topic in Going Up!
It looks like the site plan hasn't changed so far. I hope the draft house isn't replacing the condo tower that was supposed to go there- 1,531 replies

Regent Square: Mixed-Use On Allen Parkway At Dunlavy St.
lockmat replied to Travel_n_Transport's topic in Going Up!
From another one of their posts: REGENT SQUARE will be presenting details and answering questions regarding their upcoming building project in North Montrose. and then... nfortunately, Regent Square will be unavailable due to scheduling conflicts, but we will be presenting new information and taking questions and comments to relay to RS. If someone goes you should definitely put it on periscope!- 1,531 replies

St. Joseph Medical Center At 1401 St. Joseph Pkwy.
lockmat replied to Houstonian in Iraq's topic in Downtown
If it did, what do you think would happen? Would another hospital fill it or an opportunity for a developer to tear down and build a urban wonder land? Hope it doesn't close. http://www.houstonchronicle.com/news/health/article/St-Joseph-could-close-after-termination-from-6636928.php -

I think yall are freaking out a little bit too much. MOST of the galleria area was like this until just recently. Don't worry, soon enough it will be gone.

What an awesome skirt. It belongs in the galleria area or downtown. For now, the architecture of this tower is so above it's "urban" setting. Hopefully that changes.

Did they even make ugly buildings back then? I almost wouldn't believe that was Houston except for the sign. Was this the Chronicle site?

So are we expecting an answer soon? Super Bowl is getting closer...

As long as the global financial collapse doesn't happen in the next couple of years, yes. What I'm curious about is, what would a garage podium look like or be incorporate to a 100+ tower in Houston. If he could put a good portion of it in the ground that would be good.

What I meant is they do know what they have. They don't care what current conditions are. They know the value of the site.

Ralph is a long time Houston real estate reporter and probably knows a little more than the average HAIFer. I'm not saying take what he says to the bank but I think he has a good reputation. Plus, I think what he says makes perfect sense anyway considering current economic conditions.

To be fair, he didn't say when it would start. They've gotta fill up 609 first anyway, so like Ralph Bivins said, I would expect it to start until 2018ish anyway, but that doesn't mean Hines doesn't know what they have and what they can build. HAIFers will be wetting their pants for the rest of their lives.

Regent Square: Mixed-Use On Allen Parkway At Dunlavy St.
lockmat replied to Travel_n_Transport's topic in Going Up!
Have we seen this somewhat updated plan? There is a tower south of Regent Square here. I honestly think GID is seeing the boom Houston is going through and updating their plans to include more height. Just my crazy opinion. This is on Ziegler Coopers Regent Square page.- 1,531 replies

LOL. I think he is being serious. A 3-use tower makes perfect sense for this location. On the garage site I'd put a hotel/residence combo. I also like keeping the tallest towers relatively close to one another, with all of them sloping up to a center like a pyramid. I'll take 'em anywhere, too.
