I was browsing the newspaper The Bellaire Texan dated November 20, 1980 and came across an advertisement for Chancellors Restaurant & Bar located at 6534 Dumfries Drive. Does anyone know if this restaurant was from the same owners of Chancellors Family Center? They have to be! The Chancellors sports club is located at 6535 Dumfries Drive. Was there a restaurant located inside the club? Maybe the decades do not match up? This might have been the family's first business! When did Chancellors Family Center open?

By any chance, will there be community improvements the neighborhood park called Gail Reeves Park located at 8800 Mullins Drive? Who exactly was Gail Reeves?

Does anyone remember the old Westbury post office that was located at 5505 Belrose Drive? It has since been demolished to make way for the new Dr. Shannon Walker Neighborhood Library. Who was the architect? What year was it built? I'd imagine it was built in the 1950s/1960s when Westbury was forming.

Two World-Renowned Health Care Organizations Join Forces to Address Pediatric Mental Health Crisis https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/two-world-renowned-health-care-organizations-join-forces-to-address-pediatric-mental-health-crisis-301752676.html HOUSTON, Feb. 22, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- Texas Children's Hospital and The Menninger Clinic have joined forces to address the mental health epidemic adolescents are facing in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, and crisis warnings sounded by the U.S. Surgeon General. The new affiliation will expand access to in-patient care for patients ages 12 to 17 experiencing a behavioral health crisis in Houston. Inpatient care at Menninger will be provided jointly by a care team of Texas Children's Hospital providers, including Baylor College of Medicine psychiatry faculty, alongside The Menninger Clinic's clinicians and nursing staff. The hospital program opens March 1. "This affiliation between Texas Children's Hospital and The Menninger Clinic will have a life-changing impact for young patients in our community in need of critical behavioral health services," said Texas Children's Hospital President and CEO Mark A. Wallace. "In addition to the challenges we have faced over the past several years, these two teams came together to find an appropriate plan of care for this growing demand for services. I am profoundly grateful for the commitment and agility of this partnership to help Texas Children's Hospital do the right thing for our patients and our community."- 33 replies

1MC will house the UTHealth School of Public Health for $100 million for the next 6 years? Confusing. Okay, while demolishing the old School of Public Health, and building the new one on the South Campus might be 6 years. Just kind of crazy how they would spend $100 million on a temporary build out.

I've heard the following illegal drugs can be used for severe depression: Ketamine, Psilocybin, and MDMA. I would like to see the continued research of illicit drugs that can be altered at the cell level to produce therapeutic effects. Science is amazing. Any science that could potentially benefit the human body is good. Our bodies can be researched and studied forever. Biological life forms will continue to evolve over time.

Dairy Queen At 13899 South Post Oak Rd.
Highrise Tower replied to LunaSol's topic in Historic Houston
@LunaSol Are you speaking about the old Dairy Queen located near the intersection of South Post Oak Road & Willowbend Boulevard? The address would be 10601 South Post Oak Road. Some may consider this area as Hiram Clarke, as HC is just 2 miles away on S. Post Oak. History of the site: Originated as a Burger King, then became Dairy Queen, and is now set to become a ClearWater Express car wash. -
Agreed. The concept rendering of the site included 2 or 3 high-rises. However, a new CenterPoint substation is actually more beneficial to the emerging area. Technically, this is better than 2 high-rises. We always want road and energy infrastructure improvements in our state. This is a chance of improving it! TMC Helix Park, at full build, is going to be a beast! A small life science city.

Family member diagnosed with stage 4. BCM doctors ordered an extreme treatment plan of both radiation and chemo therapy treatments. He had his big surgery a few weeks ago. He went in for a check-up, and the doctor said they were able to remove all the cancer at the microscopic level! He actually beat stage 4? There is only one thing he has to do now to stay a live and healthy. He has to stop smoking. I haven't seen him smoke for 2 weeks. Last night I noticed he stepped outside and closed the door. Such a shame. That addiction to nicotine and cigarettes!! Disappointed to say the least. I wanted to rant actually. If you need to be smoking something post-cancer maybe you should smoke cannabis? Or vape nicotine at least, do not go back to plain old fashioned cigarettes. Kudos to Baylor College of Medicine!! Forever thankful. Edit: St. Lukes was involved. Baylor St. Lukes
