Houston-based Rottet Studio paid an undisclosed amount to purchase two lots at 61 Briar Hollow Lane and 65 Briar Hollow, which are home to a residential structure that was built in the 1960s. The home was designed by well-known Houston architect Howard Barnstone, who designed the Rothko Chapel at 3900 Yupon St. in Montrose. While terms of the sale were not disclosed, a listing on HAR.com says the properties sold at a price between $3.8 million and $4.4 million. Currently, Rottet Studio's headquarters is housed in the Mellie Esperson Building, at 808 Travis St. downtown. Kyle Rottet, director of marketing for Rottet Studio, said the company plans to restore the three-story home and to build a new office on the property.

  3. Wonder why they are unloading this property? I guess they cannot buy the next door parcels. The lot is too small to develop into anything worth while. MD Anderson still owns a bunch of vacant land in the area. There are plenty of places to sit down and have a conversation or places where you can go to have a meeting.” When the build-out is complete, JLL will occupy 81,990 square feet on three floors of the new 15-story, 210,000-square-foot 200 Park Place office tower. JLL hired the Houston office of St. Louis-based HOK to design the build-out, and documents filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation say the project is expected to cost $8 million. JLL’s offices at 200 Park Place will be connected by a three-story staircase, which Bellow said will help bring JLL’s employees together more efficiently.
